Children & Food Allergies: A Strategy for Success

Dealing with a food allergy is not as simple as putting on an apron and getting busy in the kitchen or eliminating the offending food from the diet. In fact, a child will not always have the supervision of Mom or Dad and the home kitchen is not always within arm’s reach. Places like school, for example, need to be a safe place for your child to grow and thrive, yet too often schools and teachers are lacking. Generally, a school may be knowledgeable about allergies that involve the use of the EpiPen and not so informed on the allergies or intolerances that just make a child complain of a tummy ache. A parent needs to keep in communication with the school, making sure the teacher and nurse know what symptoms to look for in the event that your child gets sick.

Think back to your school years and you might remember a particular subject or room that only held bad memories. Most probably these memories are related to a teacher or a bully. For children with food allergies, the lunchroom is one of the worst places in school. Listen as Kari retells what happened to her one afternoon, which wasn’t an isolated experience: “At the lunch counter I got this special desert that I could have and I was really happy about it. While I was about to sit at my table a boy said that my desert was disgusting and flipped my tray over. My clothes were ruined and all the kids around me were laughing. I felt humiliated and ashamed. I just wanted to die. When I told a teacher about it she said that it must have been an accident. When I asked for more food, I was given something I couldn’t eat.” The story continues as this child was also hypoglycemic and because she did not eat lunch that day she got very sick and even more depressed.

Many schools have an anti-bullying policy; however it is difficult to enforce. Furthermore, if a child is already alienated from other classmates it makes it even harder for the child to use the most common anti-bullying skills to stop the harassment. Traumatizing situations can create damage psychologically to a child just as badly as the allergy can do damage physically. Children with food allergies often are given shame instead of confidence and pushed away instead of being embraced. The simple truth is that some children and adults are harshly critical of things they do not understand. It is up to parents, educators, and legislatures to put programs in place to help children, adults, and establishments gain the proper perspective.

The first offering of advice is to be proactive when it comes to the mental health and life skills of your child. Understand that your child will probably be bullied at some point by other children. Having a food allergy makes your child a target for unpleasant social situations. Plan ahead and give them the skills to deal with bullying and ask them often how they are feeling. Children can become overwhelmed by hardships, stigmas, and cruel comments, which can lead to depression and in extreme cases suicide. Consider counseling to help the child learn more skills on how to live with a food allergy.

The Menu: All schools have a lunch menu and ingredient list which can be very helpful in helping your child make the right choices.

The School Party: if there is a school party and you know that there will be food involved, then plan ahead to have the child bring a tasty treat they can eat and make is so deliciously appetizing that the other children just couldn’t refuse to try it. Not only will this help the child with the food allergy not feel left out, but also validated.

To Tell or Not To Tell: Let your child know that while in some cases they might need to tell an adult of their food allergy, they do not have to tell their friends if they are not comfortable sharing. There are many ways to politely avoid certain foods like, “No thank you, I’m on a special diet.”

When I Grow Up: Share with the child celebrities who also have the same allergy. The success of a celebrity will allow the child to realize that they can also be successful. A food allergy does not have to get in the way of their dreams and aspirations.

Favorite Things: Train the child to focus on what they can have instead of what they can’t. This exercise can be a song or a game. For example, have the child name five of their favorite things that they can eat and make a little song about it. Whenever they feel sad or deprived they can sing the song to themselves. Here’s a little song I made up with one of my relatives: Flavored water and popcorn ~ Special ice cream and fries / I’m so happy I was born ~ And my food keeps me alive / There’s no telling what I can do ~ So there’s no reason to boo hoo hoo.

Instruction Manual: A cute fun way to explain doctor visits is that when we are born the instruction manual telling us what foods we can and cannot eat is missing! We have to take tests and try things out in order to discover this information. Once we know though, we will feel much better. This might lead to more curious questions, all in the name of fun. Explaining that this world is diverse and just like different animals eat certain things so do people. Cats are allergic to milk and dogs can’t eat chocolate. Horses don’t eat spaghetti and lions don’t eat bananas. Adding fun memories for the child to associate, along with the unpleasant memories that naturally occur, can help the child balance out the overall experience.

What’s The Plan: Taking time out of busy schedules to plan ahead is completely necessary. Time must be scheduled for this task. When eating out prepare your child ahead of time and get them excited about the choices they do have. At the dinner table plan a special treat just for the child with the allergy. At the grocery store seek alternatives to favorite foods.

On The Roof Top: Make sure everyone in the family is on the same page- you don't want well intentioned siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, or others sneaking "treats" to your child. Family members outside your home may not understand what you are dealing with and they may even think you are just being over protective. Regardless of what they think, they should respect your instructions. If your child has a rare intolerance or allergy to a common item like sugar, for example, stay alert! Make sure that everyone that cares for your child (Sunday school, mom’s day out volunteers, music teachers, camp counselors, etc) are properly advised every time you leave your child. Request to see the snacks that will be offered so you can view the ingredient list. Don't worry about offending anyone- you have the right to protect your child from harm. Find ways to be pleasant and not rude when requesting information because you need the people who are taking care of your child to be on your team.

Pass The Pacifier Please: If your child is an infant or toddler you know how quickly they put things in their mouth. Watch out for snacks other mom’s pullout of their diaper bags for their children. If it is something your child can't have, explain the situation. It is a good idea to come up with a short 30 second “elevator speech” of the very most important information you need to explain about your child’s food allergy. Not everyone is interested in listening to a long, detailed, on-the-spot education about food allergies. If a mom asks for more information and a discussion begins, certainly share more, but just keep in mind that the most important goal is to just keep your child safe. Good mommy friends will put any offending food away or keep it away from your child.

Every parent has a ton of things on their plate to deal with, much less the plate at the table. Yet, keep in mind that everyone has something to deal with and ignoring the issue will only make matters worse. Proper planning is at the heart of living with a food allergy. Without a good plan, food allergies can be a source of frustration and pain. Yet, with determination, food allergies can be turned into a fun cook-it-yourself lifestyle and an opportunity to gain good communication skills. We all face challenges in life. One of the hardest tests for a child with a food allergy doesn’t come with a number two pencil, but a spoon. There’s no cheating worthwhile and no getting out of it and getting an A+ is vital. So let’s all work together as a community to ensure success.

Oprah Has No Excuse!

I am sick and tired of the ignorant justification that if someone in some remote part of the earth doesn't know about God's plan for salvation that there must be another way. Let's reason together. How can there be any other way than the one way God said? He said there was only one way- His way. No confusion, no doubt, no sorting through many options, just one trustworthy solid truth. We know that God is love. We know He is just. We know that He does not desire that anyone perish. We also know that He does not lie. I know people can get concerned about those in this world who never hear the Gospel and then go to hell. We have to remember that God is just and He is not going to allow anyone to be without any excuse- one way or another. He will find a way because He is the one who tests and judges all men. Anyone seeking the One True God will find Him- you can be SURE of that FACT because HE SAYS SO! There are people who go to remote places of this earth to share about God and there are Angels that go and there are visions and dreams and the wooing of the Holy Spirit upon people's lives. GOD IS MIGHTY AND ABLE TO SAVE. So don't get stumped by people saying that junk any longer. Here’s the Scripture you should remember, “And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

For those who say there are many ways- That is a LIE! They will follow every other way EXCEPT repentance at the cross. Everyone has to deal with the cross at some point. Why are they so quick to say, "Yes," to every way EXCEPT God's way? Oprah's sentiment is that there are loving people out in the world who are not considered "saved" and those considered "saved" who do not love. [This “paints” God and Believers as unkind, unmerciful, unforgiving, uncaring, harsh, and puts a tainted SPIN on the issue.] Don't believe this LIE for one second! First of all, let me just clear the record and make it very straight- NO ONE IS RIGHTEOUS, NO NOT ONE. I've NEVER met a perfect person! We all sin. We all are guilty of something at some point or another. A person may be "nice," but SO WHAT does that have to do with salvation? So those we like and are nice to us should go to heaven and those that are difficult shouldn't? Who's judging who? We are all in the same boat ,so in the fairness of God He made it simple for ALL to be restored to Him by simply repenting, accepting His love through the death and resurrection of Y'shua, and to live our lives in Him, "Working out our salvation." The first step is marriage and the next step is proving that love for the rest of our lives- it's the same with God. Once we commit to Him we continue to be faithful. At some point, real salvation takes you to a point of no return in your commitment to God, His ways, and His truth.

Yes, there are many paths, in that there are many ways that people seek in search for the truth and in the search for God, but there is only ONE path that leads to HIM. Of course, there are many nagging road signs and forks and other travelers pointing out the right way to help us. But only those who are seeking God with all their heart will decide to follow the King’s Highway. Everyone has to deal with the question of the CROSS and make their decision. The way is narrow and straight. No one can be saved by any other NAME than the person of Y'shua.

Why, in Oprah's or anyone's mind, would any LOVING person not FULLY accept God's LOVE for them? How could any true loving person ignore the death of Y'shua? How is that loving? Yeah, I know, there are nasty "Christians" out there- I've met plenty and had my share however I am smart enough to realize that people GROW and CHANGE and ADAPT and are not perfect; people have bad days, people get attacked, people misunderstand, people are hurt, people are abused, people have hardships, people have sicknesses and people learn, change their minds, and can choose to go a different direction. Each person knows if they are right with God or not- period! If someone is loving, then how come they can't say sorry or repent of sin to God? Hmmmm. Yeah.... Also, do I even have to say that there are TONS of "Christians" who are NOT really followers of Y’shua, but are following a religion full of the doctrines of demons without a true relationship with God? Oh, and being blunt here, I have also met nasty and nice new agers, witches, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, Mormons, business people, politicians, parents, teachers and the list goes on and on. Anyone can be nasty or nice at any time by choice or circumstance. Nasty and nice is part of the human condition. God forgives us through Y’shua, the Passover Lamb, and sets us free so we can overcome sin, but we must be ACTIVE in our faith. It does no good to say the prayer of salvation and continue to live a life separated from God. Don’t you know that “Christians” need to get saved, Muslims need to get saved, Mormons need to get saved, Buddhists need to get saved, Jews need to get saved, and so forth? Religion, good works, and even martyrdom doesn’t save, only forgiveness through Y’shua saves!

Oprah said that she began to turn against the "Christian" (Baptist) way to God when she heard that God was a jealous God. The word "jealous" didn't sit right with her. Yeah, it's sometimes difficult when the Word is translated into English because it was written in Hebrew. This is why we have to study, get to root words, and understand the thought and sayings of that culture and era; and discern meanings by the Holy Spirit. The truth is that God is pure and holy and perfect, so how could He ever have evil jealousy or envy in Him? The truth is that HE DOESN'T. Oprah said she didn't understand why God would be jealous of her. HE'S NOT. How could the God of all creation be "jealous" of anything? What reason would He have to be jealous of any person? The word jealousy is used to mean a fervent and passionate love- a BONDED LOVE in which the God of the universe LOVES us so much it hurts Him when we have AFFAIRS with other gods; just as it would hurt us if our spouse had an affair. The problem is, that at times, when we come to something we don't understand we should remember the STANDARD by which we measure things. God and His Word is the standard. He is JUST and PERFECT and TRUE, so if Oprah had remembered that…she may have DISCERNED the truth about the "jealousy" matter or at least studied it out. Yet, perhaps, it just comes down to the challenge that she is not jealous for God and God alone. She does not reciprocate this tender bond of love between God and those He calls His own. It seems, by her own confession, that she is not a lover of The Lord, but of many lords; not faithful to One God, but many gods. This makes for a spiritual harlot. There are people just waiting for ANY issue to turn their faith away from God so they can create their own “perfect” god in their minds, molded to their liking and specifications. That is very sad, because the path of compromise does not lead to salvation and restoration. If a name is not written in God's book of life or has been blotted out of His book, then that person won't be with God for eternity and that is very sad, but no one is without excuse.

Here is yet another chance, if you haven't made your decision yet. To whom does your soul belong- God, devil, or man? What is your choice?

If you are still not sure, think how could anyone be good enough or do enough good deeds to become a perfect being? How can anyone work their way to heaven? The debt is so great that even if we worked for eternity we still would be unable to pay the wages of sin. Y'shua and He alone paid that price for us. And this is the main point- if a person doesn't accept Y'shua, they won't be accepted either. If someone invites you to a party and you don't go, you miss it. Are you going to go before the throne of God on judgment day and say that you are a good person and did this and that and you are worthy to enter heaven, the place of perfect worship? Yeah, right… I tell you now, if the blood of Y'shua is not on the door post of your soul, He will say He never knew you. This may come as a shock, but you would not even be able to stand in His manifest presence, which exposes every single DETAIL. You would be completely overwhelmed by His Righteousness. The reason people don’t submit to God is because they love darkness and are afraid of the light. Don’t be afraid of the light.

© 1986, 1996, 2010 Wendy Campbell - The original story was published in Guidepost Magazine and as a comic strip in Faith ‘N Stuff Magazine. The story won third place in the nation in Guidepost’s Youth Writing Contest. The story posted to this blog is a newer revised version and a bit more detailed. Among several fan letters, I received a congratulatory note from President Bill Clinton (then Governor) and a personal encouragement from Reverend Robert Schuller. I have been able to share this story with audiences and teach about staying on target with God and not putting our trust in false hope and vain imaginations.

Stormy’s long white mane flowed like a silk scarf in the breeze and his eyes were dark and deep. The pure beauty and strength breathing in and out of this living creature was magnificent. I was in my early teens living in an abusive home. My stepfather was drunk again and threatened to take my horse away. Stormy was close to my heart and the only living creature that seemed to understand me, comfort me, and bring joy to me. These spirits my stepfather drank wanted to kill, rob, and destroy life- my life.

I found solace in talking to God. I often felt God loving me through Stormy. I especially needed to know that I was loved in those days, even if that love came from my friend- a white horse. When I would cry, Stormy would wipe away my tears by sniffing and blowing them away. Then he would place his head on my shoulder and pull me to his chest to hug me. I was often surprised by his sensitivity and I always contributed that to God's love. Sometimes God's creations have a greater capacity to love than people who are born into the fallen nature.

The social scene at Jr. High School was difficult for me. I had friends, but enemies as well. Gangs and bullies in school made life even more miserable. Burden upon burden piled on me like melted wax from a burned out candle. I had a particularly bad day at school when a girl tried to pick a fight with me. Then I had to go home and deal with more abuse. I was learning to live my life as a victim waiting for some type of deliverance, not realizing I should stand up for myself. Fear and doubt crippled me. School was bad and home was worse. My whole world seemed full of hate and darkness. However, this I did have, God and my horse, Stormy. These two were my retreat from the burdens of life, where I could hope and dream of a new day. When I was with Stormy, fear and doubt seemed to glide away with the breeze. I loved to ride Stormy. He made me feel like the person I saw deep within myself, confident and full of joy. I was free when I was riding my horse. Free from home and free from school and free from constant conflict. I was riding in the wind and pounding the ground. Stress and anxiety were dynamically alleviated. That is why I decided that I was going to run away. Of course, I was soon to learn that running away from problems only creates more problems. What I needed to do was face my fears head on and follow God's solution. Still, I was headstrong and continued on my blundering way.

A better life was out there for me, so I thought. Being alone on the trail, me and Stormy seemed perfect. What else did I need? I felt that love and compassion were better than any house, better than any food, and better than any clothes. I was going to be smart about running away. I wasn't going to hit the streets; I was going to the country, the hills, and the open range, where I could be alone away from all evil creatures.

I picked up the bridle and I began to walk out of the house. My mother, who was somewhat alienated from my life, asked me where I was going. I told her I was going to ride stormy. I was so angry I didn't even care to say good-bye. I was angry that certain people in my life decided that I was worth nothing. The ridicule and rejection was unbearable. Later, my mother confessed that she was concerned for me and began to pray when I left the house that afternoon.

I often rode Stormy down by the train tracks. This was a great place to ride because the ground on either side of the tracts was wide with soft dirt and free of potholes. This was the path of choice. I decided to follow the train tracks because I figured that the tracks were headed somewhere and that somewhere was where I wanted to go. I rode for several miles before we came to a park. I really didn’t want to be seen or have to deal with any crazies that may be out there waiting to grab a young girl on a horse, so I avoided the park. The tracks lead to a bridge over a large concrete ravine. The park looked inviting, but I had a fear of that, so I decided the bridge was the only way to go. I rode Stormy up to the bridge, but he was resisting going across. So I dismounted in order to walk him across. The bridge was unique to me. It had wire mesh on either side of the tracks for walking, but I was concerned that the wire walkway would not withstand the weight of a horse. I concluded that trains were very heavy so the trestles would handle his weight. It was settled, we would walk over the train trestles.

I turned to Stormy and I rubbed his soft while head and I looked into his eyes. I whispered to him, "its okay, Stormy, don't be afraid, trust me." Having finished my convincing speech I turned around and with the reigns in my hand proceeded to walk. Stormy followed. I had never seen such intense doubt or fear in Stormy before, yet he trusted and he followed. His nostrils flared and I could see the whites of his eyes. He was slightly trembling and his steps were unsure. For a moment I didn't understand why he was acting this way. Then I looked down and suddenly I understood. This bridge was not a solid bridge. The iron was the bridge and the wood trestles were spaced sporadically. There were uneven gaps between the boards. A sudden regret sunk deep within the depths of my soul. Immediately, I wanted to abandon this course of action. To stop whatever it was that was going to happen next. As I turned to go back, Stormy turned and fell between the boards. I watched in horror as one leg was caught and then another leg, then another and another. The skin on his legs was ripped and blood spilled down a good thirty feet to the concrete below as his belly rested on a couple planks of wood. I ached at the thought that he may fall completely through. We were both in shock. The world crashed in on me and we were both completely helpless.

God was my only hope. So, I turned and looked to the sky. I said, "God, now is a good time to end the world." I begged and pleaded that He would end the world so I would not have to bear this pain and no one would ever know this happened. I really expected God to meet my demands. I saw the heavens open up and the angels coming to my rescue so I thought for sure He was about to end the world. Well, He didn’t end the world on my behalf. God was not my genie in the sky. He was not going to do things my selfish way. I did not understand His ways. I wanted God to fit my plan, so I asked for the wrong things. It was a mistake to try and make God my quick escape.

I wasn't finished with finding quick escapes, though. I had several other rescues in mind. I became a bit angry with God for not ending the world so I decided to take care of things myself. I went over to Stormy and tried to lift him up. Although I managed to get his two front legs out and in front of him I could do no more. I failed. I held Stormy and petted him and tried to calm him. I had deep remorse. How could I have done this to my best friend? I cried hard. Self-hate became a consuming emotion. That is when Satan tempted me and I heard a new plan of escape. Death was better than this pain. I felt there was no way out of this situation but to die with Stormy. I had decided that if a train was going to come by I would remain by Stormy's side. A train never came.

Next, I yelled for help. I imagined a helicopter coming and placing a belly strap on Stormy and lifting him to safety. I pictured the news media coming out to hear about my ordeal and it would somehow change my horrible life. I thought trusting in mankind would bring me a hero. A small crowd of people assembled themselves around the scene and a couple of men tried to lift Stormy but were unable. One individual went to call the fire department. No rescue came and my vain imaginations had to stop. There was no magical door that was going to take us away from reality. I made a bad decision from poor judgment out of desperation and I was just going to have to live with the consequences.

Dusk settled in the sky and Stormy began to have violent convulsions. I have never been so scared in my life. Suddenly the pain I felt transformed into the honest need for resolve. From my innermost being came a calm truth and a fervent faith. I knelt down on my knees before God and I repented. I asked God to forgive me of my wrongs and I forgave those that wronged me. My desperate cry was, "Please help me, you are the only one who can save me, there is no one else that can." Then I prayed in my heavenly language and cried as I watched Stormy's eyes roll back. I thought for sure he was going to breathe out his last breath, but something else happened instead.

God broke through my storm. I experienced an incredible miracle. Suddenly Stormy rolled backwards (which in itself is a motion entirely foreign to horses.) He rocked back so that he sat up on his rump. In doing so, his back legs became parallel with the boards- and free! Then he put his front legs in front of him in a straddle position and in an unexplainable manner got up. It was as if there were angels lifting him up. No fear and no doubt, God saved us. Peace surrounded us. Stormy walked back across the bridge the way we came as if floating on air. He stood waiting for me at the end of the bridge. As I sat there in amazement, Stormy turned his head and looked at me as if to say, "Well, aren't you coming?" How can I possibly express the amazing joy and awe of that moment?!

I called my mother and she came to the park to walk home with Stormy and me that night. I thought that Stormy's legs might have been severely traumatized or broken, but I was able to walk him home that night. His cuts were deep, but not too deep so the blood stopped flowing. As I lay in my bed that evening and Stormy resting safely in his stall I could not help but sense a loathing feeling about myself. I prayed to God and I thanked him for what he did and how he helped me forgive others and how he forgave me, but I told him that I would never forgive myself for what I had done. Then he gently spoke to me and said, "If you do not forgive yourself then what I did will mean nothing to you." As he was saying this to me I had a vision of My Lord and Savior on the cross, who sacrificed all for me for the forgiveness of sins. How could I not receive the fullness of His healing? He helped me forgive myself.

Stormy fully recovered in about two weeks! God healed Stormy so completely that he never had a scar and his hair grew back where he had been cut. This is a miracle in itself because horses can scar easily and most of the time the hair doesn’t grow back. With his fair skin, scaring would have always been a reminder of what I had done. Yet, God even healed my future. He revealed to me the way of life and He revealed to me something special about Himself. God is the, “God of the breakthrough,” and He is the one who calms storms. From then on Stormy’s name became “Storm Breaker,” in honor of what the Lord did for us.

Heart Wings

I wrote this poem as a cry against the hypocrisy I was experiencing in a particular church gathering. Among many things going on, the final straw for me was when people were singing, “…and we will dance on the streets that are golden.” The problem was that worship dance, or even lifting one’s hands for that matter, was heavily frowned upon. People could SING about dancing just as long as they didn’t actually dance. OMG! So, it’s okay to dance in heaven, but not in church. Oy Vey!!

Religion holds captive the heart
Wanting to be free
What am I supposed to believe?
Show me wisdom's insight to see
Why can't I just be me?
Isn't that what You've created me to be?

False gods

An endless sky of midnight dreams
hangs a moon, the god of ideas:
Religious philosophies
are the substance of her illumined beams

Without boundary, the god dictates to her subject -
the mind
in a deepening psychology
in which she will possess all thought
which travels its way to the heart,
which travels its way to the soul

She whispers her subtle social divinations
in hopes the mind will believe her lies
She, half dressed in the sun's glory
is the master of confusion
married to her love, the god of the earth

And those minds which follow her
Are held captive in her hidden womb of catacombs
and will one day be birthed into an eternal death
Yet, she says- in her there is life
When both she, the moon god
and he, the earth god
Know that the SON will return
to expose their lies with His truth
these gods will die with their followers
Life will come to those who follow the Son

And that He, the Creator

will meet his true followers
and birth them into eternal life.

Attitude of Love

With His Righteous Son ever shining
In the hearts and minds of timbrel dancers, combining
Holy Spirit power and anointing
With an attitude of love

Rainbow promises beat from the drums of my sisters
Who prophesy with abandon, a holy dance flow
Spreading God's fiery whispers,
Joyful attitudes and heavenly glow
To all who desire His fragrant oil
Continue to lavishly extend this jingle
With an attitude of love

Put your heads up, let Faith leap high
Gaze deeply into the King of King's eyes
Frequently meet Him in the chambers of first love
And there you will fly on the wings of the dove!

Listen carefully, and you will hear
His love response, making everything clear:

Love is a Dance

If I dance with the best of dancers and of angles, but do not have love, I become as a tambourine played offbeat and jingles excessively.

And if I have the gift of prophetic dance, and know all the correct poses and all the best steps; and if I have all faith, to step out even among strangers, but do not have love, my dance communicated nothing.

And if I give all my dresses and slippers and advice to the less fortunate dancers, practice diligently and sacrifice meals, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

Love is patient when my fellow dancers are lagging.

Love is kind when my fellow dancers are struggling.

Love is not jealous of another dancer who seems to jump higher, smile bigger, and is much much thinner.

Love does not brag about all the roses, and metals, and performances one has done.

Love is not arrogant, dancing haughtily and with a "performance" attitude, rather than with humility and adoration to the Lord.

Love does not seek its own spotlight.

Love does not provoke other dancers to anger, making them look bad in front of others and possibly disqualifying them.

Love forgives another dancer who has accidentally stepped on ones toes.

Love is a dance that rejoices with truth.

Love is a dance that bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love doesn't quit. Love is a dance that doesn't fail.

The Deliverer

Singing in my heavenly language and listening to worship music as a young kid, I seemed to have passed out in the Holy Spirit. It felt like I fell asleep. I was alone at the time. When I woke up, I had this experience to tell, so I wrote down the story immediately. Upon examination of the story, as a teen, it was really neat to find the Scriptures, names, and details of the story spiritually significant.

I am a child running in fear. I can hear my footsteps as my feet crash on the leaves of a cold and broken ground. My eyes filled with fear searching back and forth for shelter. My face so pale and bleak that it nearly glows with illness in this dark place. I find and desperately hide in the broken hollow logs in the depth of this forest. Weepy trees surround and cut off the light of the sun. For a moment I have found rest or my pounding chest. A thirst taunts me.

Now, as I have time to notice, There is a certain light in this place. Peering from behind this moist rotted wood I see a small blue incandescent pond. It is inviting to cool my sweaty brow and parched tongue. I crawl out and as I walk closer to the water I feel again that which I was running from. A damp breeze lightly flows like a mist, gently brushing the hair off my face. A wet chill of death streaks down my spine as I am next to the edge. I stand exposed and frozen. On my lips lies the cry to be saved and my senses wonder at this moment of mystery. In brave intent I crouch down to look more intently and with my index finger I touch the glassy surface. A small ripple forms yet no reflection of myself is revealed. I am looking through a window into the depths of some evil.

A violent noise of rushing wind crashes above. The hovering trees burst open and stand straight. Looking up I see the night sky and a silver winged dove in flight. I look down again and the pond instantaneously evaporates brining up an icy-fire from below- glacial looking, yet furiously torrid. I try to run in escape, but my sight is gone- I am blind. I rub my eyes in frantic motions and fall to my knees. I hear the powerful wind coming closer to me along with flapping wings. I think the dove is coming. “Help me God, forgive Thy sinful servant,” I cry. I am touched by the movement of wings and my sight is restored. A beam of light appears and shines straight down in front of me.

A voice speaks out of this light, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believer in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not condemned; He who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is judgment, that the light has come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil, for everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light lest his deeds should be exposed, but he who does what is true comes to the light, that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God.”

I choose to step closer to the light. However, as I begin to step into the light, two demons, molech and sheol, rise up out of the sweltering pit and cry, “Ha, Peace, Peace, to the far and near, said the Lord and I will heal. Ha, all lies you see, all lies, don’t be fooled!” They mock God. The horror in their faces makes me fearful and weak. I feel a tugging at my heel. In pure reproach and with a revived spirit, I declare, “My Lord says that wicked are like the tossing sea for it cannot rest and the waters toss up mire and dirt; there is no peace, says my God, for the wicked! Be wicked, I will not! I want peace and everlasting life, not death and darkness. Who would I be a part of but a part of something that is not real that only wanted to be. Only God, Jesus, is real. Only He can give real life- and he doesn’t need to hide His presence. So you, fire of ice, molech and sheol, go back and leave this land alone.”

The power of God sweeps me into His light away from their piercing words. The earth quakes and swallows the fire. Nothing is left of the darkness or the pond. It is peaceful and quiet. I kneel down in thanksgiving, feeling a great joy, like never before, and my thirst quenched. I raise my head into His bright light and proclaim, “Lord you are my Shepherd, I shall not want. Now you make me lie down in green pastures beside the still waters and you restore my soul. You lead me in the paths of righteousness for your name sake. Even though I pass through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I am lifted up into the sweet presence of God for a time of restoration.

Morning Star

When I was a kid, ten or younger, I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write this poem. An adult I knew hated this poem and told me that I was deceived. He tried to convince me that God didn’t send any Angel down to tell people about Him. Boy, he was furious. Since I was a kid and hadn’t read the Bible, I was shamed into thinking I had told a lie about God. I was sure that the Holy Spirit told me these things and I wrote them down correctly, but the false guilt piled upon me was harsh. Still, I knew that I knew, but had no proof, so I remained silent. It wasn’t until I was in my teen years and able to read the Bible that I came across Revelation 22:16, “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.” It was then that I had proof the Lord had given me a prophetic chant regarding the last days. What the Lord had shown me matched with Scripture even though I had never before read or heard those verses. I was set free by His word.

Moon of starry windless night
You are so beautiful to my sight
The stars around you clothe you like silk
Everything evolving is just perfectly built

Sun and planets going round
The universe is so sound
Only God’s glory and miraculous might
Could make such a wondrous sight

Rainbows, shadows, bursting clouds
The universe is plainly ours
If only we keep our ground
and obey God’s Holy surround

Spirit, O Spirit, O Spirit above
Come down in a white winged dove

That we may see God’s endless loving eyes

My Umbrella

When I was a in elementary school I had to walk three miles to get home every afternoon. Yes, it was dangerous and there were many close calls of various kinds. There was one day that it was cold and storming. I had to walk home without an umbrella and without a sweater or coat. I just decided that I would walk with God on that journey and not fret; that He would be my shelter. I walked in peace that day and enjoyed the rain without care because I knew of His love for me. Years later, as an adult, I was shopping in a novelty store (on vacation) and I found a little girl figurine and she was smiling up to God and holding an umbrella. It reminded me so much of my time with the Lord that I bought it as a reminder.

When I stepped into the day
Nothing seemed to be in my way
Yet, the wind was strong and flowing fast
Thunder, lightning around me crashed

Even through the storm and hail
His love for me has never failed
By His grace He made me strong
and kept me warm as I walked on

The One Who Betrays

full of shadows that never settle

To listen means to hear the

uncoiling waning to those who
dare disbelieve

The beauty of diamond material
he wears
intricate patterns of red and jade
capturing the smooth tints of
the heaping golden hoard
mounds of lust he composes on

Though captivating a glistening heap
the malicious eye never slumbers
he searches whom he may devour
ready when summoned to kill
unmercifully
the prey under his spell
to perform his victimizing ritual

Made once to fly, now cursed to slither
he uses his reptilian wizardry
and in one swallow it is done
his prey is nevermore

The demon encases his
live possession
like a thief claiming rightful heir
The beast cannot keep secret the truth
as victims bulge from his belly
Still, he lures… Still, he remains proud.

Holy Oracles listen, see, and smell the signs
voice warnings to the innocents of these times
Thwart the robber with sword and shield
Breakthrough with faith, hope, love, and build
a fortress against the one who destroys
Then crown the worshiping warriors- God’s allies
Go now, be quick, and do not hesitate
Lift up the standard and let it shake- quake
So our brethren will not be bewitched, but awake!

Shattered Dreamer

A Message from Minister Duncan Campbell to Pastors and Leaders:

Most of us believe we have been called to ministry because God has a specific plan for us in life. We want to fulfill that purpose and hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” as Jesus is quoted in Matthew 25:21.

“The kingdom of heaven is advancing and the forceful are the ones who will take hold of it.”
Matt. 11:12

“God has not given us a spirit of fear (timidity), but of power, love and a sound mind.”
2 Tim. 2:11

Kingdom living is life with God’s principles as our foundation and our measuring stick (standard.) It is using our free will to follow His will and as we take action. Laboring alongside the Lord, we bring people within our spheres of influence into the Kingdom- this is called, “taking dominion.” When we say we will follow Jesus, it means that we make Him the center of our lives and we give Him our lives.

We all have prayed the prayer Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:10, “…May Thy Kingdom come, may Thy will be done on Earth as it already is in Heaven…” Through this rabbinical prayer, the Lord desires that His will to be done in every aspect of our lives. We need to use our free will to execute His will and we do that in prayer, in our speech, and in our actions.

In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus told us to be the light of the world and not to hide that light under a bushel. We are to let our light shine among men in order that they may see our actions as good and glorify God in Heaven. We need to be men of courage and not hide our lights under the modern day bushels of church buildings or political correctness or fear other people’s opinions of us. Will we be that light? Will we shine that light? Will we actually lead our congregations to be lights wherever they are and wherever they go?

My life and ministry has taken me around the world. I’ve preached the gospel in communist nations and former communist nations. I’ve talked and prayed with pastors and others who compromised their faith. They had deep regret. I’ve worked with pastors who did not compromise and were boldly advancing the kingdom even then in Cuba, Nicaragua, Romania and many other nations. The single difference was one principle- Courage. Both groups experienced fear, intimidation, threats, and suffering. Both lived under similar circumstances and saw the same pattern of events unfold. But the one group who did not have regret because they did not compromise, remembered Joshua Chapter 1, “…Be strong and courageous… be very strong and very courageous.”

Let’s bring this into the real world of 2010:

1. We love in a time of great economic upheaval.

2. Terrorists are multiplying like rats. Even American citizens are being recruited.

3. Iran will have a nuclear weapon within a year.

4. Pirates are ruling the North African seas.

5. Right here in America self-proclaimed “Progressives,” Marxists, Communists, and Socialists are in the top tiers of government. These philosophies are anti-God at their core.

It’s high time for the Church to stand up and speak. It’s time for pastors and leaders to take a bold stand for God and His kingdom principles. Now is the time and we are the ones!

Our forefathers believed in God and the Bible. They founded the USA on biblical principles. Their primary allegiance was to God, not to government. Ours is the same. Listen to what our founders said, listen to reason, listen to the Biblical principles declared within these statements:

“Our political way of life is by the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God, and OF COURSE presupposes the existence of God, the moral ruler of the universe, and a rule of right and wrong, of just and unjust, binding upon man, preceding all in situations of society and government.” John Q. Adams

“The God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time. Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their own firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that those liberties are the gift of God?” Thomas Jefferson

“As man depends on his Maker for everything, it is necessary that he should in all points conform to his Maker’s will. This will of his Maker is called the law of nature, being coexistent with mankind and dictated by God Himself is, of course, superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times; no human laws are of any validity if contrary to this… Upon these two foundations, the law of Nature and the law of revelation depend all human laws; that is to say, no human laws should be permitted to contradict these.” William Blackstone

Last year was the first year since 1952 that the President of the United States refused to celebrate the National Day of Prayer in the White House. He did, however, celebrate the Muslim holiday of Ramadan. This same president stated publicly that America was not a Christian nation. He said that America was one of the largest Muslim nations.

Last week, Barbara Crabb, a U.S. District Court judge, ruled the National Day of Prayer “unconstitutional” because it violates the religion clause of the 1st Amendment. It is a MYTH that there is a separation of church and state in the Constitution. This concept has been stated so many times, repeated by so many people for several decades that many people, even pastors and believers think it is true. The myth says that any government entity from federal to state to local, from schools to courthouses to politicians to government employees to teachers and even students cannot pray or read their Bible or share the gospel or say the name of Jesus in the public square. In actuality, to share our faith is the free expression (exercise) of our faith, which is Biblical, our God given right, and in this country supposed to be protected under the Constitution of the United States.

The 1st Amendment says simply and only that the U.S. Congress (no other entity) cannot make a law establishing one denomination as the official religion of the United States or keep someone from practicing their religion. The trouble is they are ignoring the 2nd part of the phrase completely and expanding congress to anything touching government including a football team or a valedictorian’s speech. If this was correct why did we see prayer and Bible reading and God in all places of American life in the 1700’s, the 1800’s and most of the 1900’s?!

Our founders recognized God as their Creator and that He must be involved in government and in the hearts of the people in government so they would rule and govern with Bible principles as their guide. The myth extends ever further as time goes on and the church stays silent! The powers of darkness want to silence pastors. Principalities have been intimidating and deceiving the church into thinking that they are doing something against the law when they speak the truth- that it somehow violates the separation of church and state (which is a myth.) Civility cannot exist without God's good will working in us. It is through God's people with Godly principles that the Creator introduced and communicated civility and law to the world in the first place. To attempt to take the authority of God out of the public eye will cause disorder- a further degeneration of society by being devoid of the author of all goodness. God is a God of order.

We have an opportunity and a challenge to stand up and speak out by praying together on the public square. Let’s be counted as a leader who is not afraid of offending those who want us to be silent. Let’s join together to pray on the National Day of Prayer.

I have invited politicians, public officials and pastors to join us. Please, do come and bring your staff and your congregation with you. Instead of token participation, let’s fill the streets with prayer. Let’s make a stand for God. Let’s be like Peter and John when they told the authorities, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God.”

Encourage people to get involved. If not now, then when? If not you, then who? “Surely, you were made for such a time as this.”

Actions that advance the Kingdom in the arena of the political process:

1. Pray for the candidates that they would commit to not compromising their Biblical principles.

2. Contact the candidates and let them know you want them to make decisions according to their principles.

3. Find out the values & principles of every candidate to make sure you vote for someone that shares your values.

4. Pray for the candidates.

5. Once you find candidates for office that you can support, volunteer to help, either in the primary &/or in the general election. Make phone calls, put out signs, help people register to vote (especially at church buildings.)

6. Educate yourself on the current bills before Congress and other issues at stake in the nation, the state, your city. Compare the positions on the issues with the Bible and the principles in the Bible. Decide based on the Bible.

7. Contact your current Congressmen, Senators, and others at each level of government and let them know how you and your family, friends and associates think about the issues. Let them know you want their decisions to be based on Biblical principles.

8. Vote at every election and make sure you remind others to vote.

Meeting with Rep. John Boozman

I just left a meeting with Congressman John Boozman who is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Blanche Lincoln from Arkansas. This was a small group of about 50 people.

Questions ranged from what to do about the new so-called health care reform bill to what Boozman thought about illegal immigration to energy independence and runaway spending. John said that he is in favor of all the various approaches to stopping this health care bill from being activated. He mentioned the 18 states that have filed lawsuits (he wants Arkansas to join them) and the bill in the House of Reps to repeal the bill.

He believes that America should embrace the "all of the above" approach to energy independence, using American natural gas, American wind, American solar energy, American oil, American nuclear power, American clean coal, and other American alternative energy sources.

He is against cap and trade(tax) because it will make all energy costs go way up, which will hurt every single American. He voted "NO" when that legislation was brought up before and he is against it now.

He said that the runaway spending is really out of control. He wants Congress to stop spending more than it takes in and he is in favor of a constitutional amendment to balance the federal government.

On immigration he said that we should secure the borders, execute employer mandates against hiring illegals and shut down the illegal document industry. He believes in eliminating the current complicated income tax system and replacing it with either the Fair Tax or flat tax and he does not believe in the new idea of keeping the high income tax, high corporate tax and adding a VAT tax as well.

I made a statement and asked a question. I said that I believed that the phrase, "Washington is broken," was really true. The process is faulty (how Congress uses contorted "rules" and bribes with arm twisting) to pass bills. Most of the bills introduced and/or passed this past year are bad bills and the principles that Congressman and Senators are supposed to stand for are being compromised.

I said we needed courage in our Senators and Congressman to really get things right. I wanted to know if he and others in the Republican Party were willing to have courage in the future like they have had this past year to stand against bad bills and the loss of freedom and expansion of the federal government. He said that he agreed with that statement and that he and other conservatives need us the citizens to continue to have the courage to stand up for our principles and speak out on the issues. He said that even though he and his fellow Republicans lost the battle on the health care bill, we conservatives bloodied the nose of the bully. He said we needed to keep going forward in the fight for values and see more liberal Congressman and Senators quit or be defeated.

John Boozman stated that he believed that the first thing Christians needed to do was to pray. Some of his best friends in Congress are the members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus.

After this meeting and the one I went to last night where I heard from other Republicans running for the Senate I was encouraged that all of them have no problem stating their faith publicly. None of them want to see the nation keep moving radically to the left. All of them want to see our freedoms preserved and our country getting back on track. They all want to stop the runaway spending and restore American boldness in our foreign policy.

As my friend Timothy said, "The biggest question is whether the candidate who is elected in the primary will actually stand true to his promises when he wins the election and goes to Washington!"

I hope and pray the new Senator will do just that and I will personally tell the winner that we the people of Arkansas have the courage to make sure they do!

We have a small window in time to see things turn around. Wendy and I have traveled and ministered in Communist and former Communist nations. I don't want our country to get anywhere close to that kind of government. If we don't stop the “Obama Express” then we will be there sooner than you think. In case you are wondering the destination of the Obama Express is Karl Marx's Utopia. God help us if we end up there because it is the earthly side of hell!

America's Foundations

American law in general, including the concepts in the Constitution come primarily from English common law. This had its roots in Latin law which has roots in Hebrew law, including the Ten Commandments. Our forefathers called God's principles "natural law." It might seem logical that since some other cultures have ancient laws against such things as murder and stealing, American law could have come from those sources, but that simply was not the track for American law. However, it is also true that any good thing originates in the heart and mind of God, including laws from other cultures. After all, every culture originates from the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham and Japheth- and all of them knew God's natural law. Most of the 10 Commandments were part of the Constitution or common law in America, in some form or another. I'm not sure what you mean by saying that the religious protections were designed to break some commandments.

I did not say the Muslims invented slavery. Slavery itself was in existence for thousands of years. I did say that they were the ones that began the practice in Africa which resulted in the traffic of human lives in the 1500's to the 1800's. One of my primary sources is an indigenous Christian leader from Nigeria. His name is Maiwa'azi Dan Daura. His book is titled "Islam, the seed of Slavery". I met Maiwa'azi and talked with him at length back in 2005. He is a scholar and an awesome man of God. His extensive research includes documents from Africa. The history recorded states that Arabic Muslims regularly came to Africa to capture slaves for their own communities in Arabia. They also hired certain tribal leaders to capture and sell slaves for them to Spanish and Portuguese slave traders. The Arabs made a profit, the tribal leaders made a profit, the slave traders made a profit and so did the slave owners in the Colonies. I am opposed to slavery. If I had lived in the 1800's I would have been an abolitionist. (Side note: Abraham Lincoln was an abolitionist and his party-Republican began at that time with ending slavery as its platform)

Concerning the indigenous Americans: I could spend hours talking about this subject in detail. I will only mention a few things here. Let me say first that I have a number of very good friends that are national leaders in the network of Native American followers of Jesus. I have learned much of my knowledge on this subject from them. I have also worked among the tribes here in the U.S. including Alaska, as well as in Nicaragua, Guatemala, and some other nations. The history of the settlers and the indigenous population includes good experiences and bad ones for all parties. The unbelievers who immigrated to America from Europe were many times unprincipled. They were not constrained by Biblical principles. The Christians who came here were a mixture of many kinds. Different denominations, varied depths of understanding of the Bible, a range of perspectives and practices. Not everyone had the right attitude towards the indigenous, but some of them had a deep love and compassion for the original people. Many of the methods used to reach the people here were misguided at best. Most of the time their methods of evangelism did not even work. The Native Americans were also diverse. Some of them were violent towards the settlers. Some of them were very friendly to the settlers and open to the gospel. 5 of the tribes saw the good in European culture and they adopted many features of it. I live in the path of the Trail of Tears. I have studied it in depth. I have led prayer events to pray for repentance for the sins of our Fathers in this horrible travesty. As far as Andrew Jackson is concerned, he may have claimed to be a Presbyterian, but his wickedness in initiating the Trail of Tears was indefensible. All along history's way, even today, there is a difference between claiming to be a Christian and actually living by Biblical principles.

The problem in the political realm today is that too many politicians do not stand on godly principles. Many times they make that claim, but their programs do not back it up. Whenever I look at a policy or a program or a political process or a policy, I look first to see if and how it actually matches a Biblical principle. I have asked Republicans, Democrats and Independents in office pointed questions on what they stand for and why they voted for or against certain bills. Not everything in politics is cut and dry, but some of it is. Not everything can be labeled "right or wrong" but some of it can. Sometimes, what the President or Congress is doing must be challenged. The goal is not to denigrate an individual, but we must not shy away from defending the clear cut God given rights and responsibilities we have been given.

Power in The Blood

Put your trust in the Lord and the hope of glory will calm your soul and satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst. Put the kingdom of God first in all things and your path will be straight. Do not forget the joy of your salvation.

When Duncan and I would go to Mardi Gras on outreach, we would tell the team to put on the gospel shoes of peace. We were there to extend a hand of mercy, love, and salvation to anyone who was being drawn to such things. The world already knows the way to hell, but what they don't know is the way to heaven. They know suffering more than love and despair more than hope. We don't yell and cram God down them and make them feel worse than they already feel. We listen to them, respect every human being with common decency, and give them food if they need it. In turn they listen to us in this natural friendly exchange. We get to see a part if their life and they get to see ours. We watch as they become inspired and drawn to the light. We tell them what they need to know, but it is always up to them to believe or to reject.

Now, as for Christians who already know the way, who dabble in idol worship and debauchery and live a lifestyle of gross sin; to them comes the stern rebuke! The Bible says not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person. We do not want to be led astray by their sins as well.

Let me give a unique illustration of something that really happened to us at Mardi Gras. As some of you may know, processionals are common during this festival with Greek and other pagan gods at the helm. One night in the square as we shared a drama of the Carmen's "This Blood Is For You," a processional of witches and warlocks carrying bowls of drug like smoke came into our midst. Now, there were a lot of other Christian groups who had converged upon the square earlier. The witches were attempting to overpower us. With serpentine dances and music they processed through the crowd of Christians and then encircled themselves in a round encampment that continued to move and conjure evil.

The Christians seemed entranced as they watched, standing still and lifeless. I was appalled. I went around screaming to them (so they could hear over the noise) to look away and not focus on the demons. Yet, there they stood staring and not responding. I began to combat the situation by crying aloud, "The Blood of Jesus," over and over at the top of my lungs. I looked up to the Lord for where help comes and away from the pagan worship. Quickly we had people on our team station themselves among the Christians and yell, "The Blood of Jesus!" It was only a matter of seconds before Christians started waking up. The witches suddenly RAN off like an atom bomb had exploded- they dispersed in all directions. This was an amazing spiritual victory which demonstrated in tangible way the power of God.

May the Blood of Y'shua (Jesus) cover you and may peace reside in your heart. Have hope in your spirit that God can and will walk with you through every sad thing. Look up to Him, not the circumstance, because He is going to teach you something special through it. Everything we go through is not in vain because of His sacrifice in the cross. Walk in the Gospel of Truth and stay away from temptation. Be on the alert for every scheme and flaming arrow from the evil one. The Blood of the Lamb and the Word of your Testimony will vanquish every foe.

Health Care Yes Votes

Here is a list of those who allowed the health care bill as we know it [HR3590 & HR 4872] to be signed into law. This list is organized by state and lists both congress and senate names. The Senate voted on December 24^th, 2009 and received 60 “yes” votes. Congress voted on March 21^st, 2010 and received 219 “yes” votes. The force this bill makes against our freedom is staggering. The impact this bill makes on continuing abortion in our country is disgusting. While there are a few perks, the cost is debilitating. Sensible people would have passed common sense reform without added pork and poison. Responsible people would have read the bill for themselves before voting on it. Our country is being fundamentally changed and we are moving further and further away from the original intent of our forefathers. This is a sad day. However, we can do our best to vote these people out of office! Pray for a miracle.

London Bridge

I had a dream a few months ago and will now share. Keep in mind that most dreams are up for interpretation and don't always give exact details. While some things in prophetic dreams are specific other things are symbolic. My hope is that this dream is entirely symbolic.

I found myself in London. There were people in the streets everywhere enjoying a party of some kind, like a National Holiday. The people were happy and enjoying life and friends. Of course, this may not be an actual date or time. This could be indicative of a mind-set that people were enjoying their everyday lives and not realizing that something bad was about to happen. I had this sense of impending danger.

Suddenly there was an explosion and I saw the London Bridge blown to bits. Of course, this may seem reminiscent of the old song, "The London Bridge is Falling Down." However, my thoughts at that moment were not of this childhood song, but of horror and sadness. People everywhere were horrified and confused. I thought why would anyone target that bridge? It just didn't seem like a place that a terrorist would target. It was the element of surprise that left people feeling numb. I wondered why I was seeing what I was seeing. The confusion turned to anger for everyone including myself. I was appalled that a key part of London's history was destroyed. It was sickening and disheartening.

After the dream I had also sensed that the Queen's time was nearing the end. A time of sorrow was approaching. Joy was about to turn into sorrow.

What to do with a dream/vision such as this? I think it is horrible to see such things; to even consider that there are awful people out there who would even consider such terrible acts. Please pray for the people of England and against all threats real or imagined. Pray for law enforcement that they will be sharp, alert, safe, and able to stop one evil scheme after another.

Sunshine

Tears rapidly scale down my face
Like streams of wax breaking away from the flame
Memories of happy days are all that will remain as she,
My sunshine slips softly into her eternal sleep

A piece of my soul rips away
Like a thief steals heirlooms from their dusty places
She lay there fighting for every precious breath
I hold her hand as cancer has the final say on her mortal frame

The day is grey but for a break of light in the clouds
The Son calls her name through the window
She opens her eyes to see that love surrounds her
Yet the greatest love cannot stop this unfolding moment

One profound tear emerges from her eye, its meaning unknown
Like a deaf girl who desires to speak a word no one knows
I envision a world of life in that single bead rolling ever slowly
As the days of her life played out for her on a screen

This chasm in time revealing this world has now come to pass
New beginnings slowly come into view like a little bud’s first bloom
This flower will soon awake to perfection and shake off all imperfections
Instantly transforming like a fragrant flower bursting with joy in the sun

And now, as she breathe her last of earthly decay
Having given her all and having paid attention to every detail
Living a full life of love and adventure - family and friendships
Her tear, her very last, was wiped away by the very hand of God

And the tears I shed for her and for me, for the loss of her person
Are said to be kept in a bottle near God’s heart where crystal streams flow
One simple comfort pierces my mourning like the breaking dawn, that she
Partakes of the healing tree where no sickness can ever destroy her again

I can only wait for that heavenly reunion

My Triple Great Aunt Emma

After the passing of my beloved Grandmother Louise King I was handed dear family photographs handed down through the generations. I also had the wonderful fortune of finding some poetry that my Great-Great-Great Aunt Emma wrote. She was the sister of my Great-Great-Great Grandmother Ford who was the mother of my Great Grandmother Cora. Aunt Emma was my Grandmother King's Great Aunt and her maiden name was Emma Hubricht. Emma married a man named Leabo Fisher.

Anyway, I am glad to say that I have come from a long line of women and men in my family that not only believed in God, but were also saved by His grace. There is a strong spiritual history within the family that continues today.

This first poem was published in the "Saints Herald," which might have been a Seventh-Day-Adventist publication, but I don't know for sure. There was no date on the copy that I have which was rewritten from her memory. She lived in the late 1800's and the early 1900's.

ALONE

Alone we are treading life's pathways
Though we're marching abreast with the throng.
No other can feel a heart's anguish
Or its joy as we journey along.
Into each soul an ego was planted
And each sees a vision its own;
Alone each must stand in the conflict;
Each begins it and ends it Alone.

Though millions are treading life's journey
As trodden by millions before
And after us millions may follow
And after them yet millions more
Alone one heart beats in each bosom
Whose yearnings and fears are its own
And the height and the depth of its vision
Are discerned by that one soul alone.

Though millions are living and dying
While time passes ever and on
God has given to each soul a duty
He has given to no other one.
Alone each must kneel in Gethsemane
When tears, sweat, and blood, all its own
Are like sweet drops that fell from the Master
When He prayed in the Garden alone.

Aunt Emma writes, "My poetry-writing friend, Miss Fraller, wrote me some time ago that she planned to be married last year, but in April her fiance became sick; and continued so until early January when he died. She was so grieved that she felt unable or unprepared to endure the loss. When she wrote to me about it, she mentioned dead leaves still clinging to scrub oak trees, rustling a sad requiem in tune with her heart's sorrow. I wrote these verses just for her. She replied that these words started a flood of tears which she had been unable to shed."

WHEN SPRING IS NEAR

When Spring is near, dead leaves still cling to scrub oaks
Unmoved by Winter's blasts or March wind's might
But gentle swelling buds of life release them
That new leaves may have place in Spring's delight

Grief sometimes clings to hearts, like dead leaves linger.
God does not bruise the heart to make it free
For God is love; and with His hand he gently
Removes the veil, that eyes of faith might see

The beauty which the past has kept in secret
And which the future holds yet to bestow
Through floods of tears, like April's showers falling
On thirsty roots, that buds of hope should grow.

A HEAVENLY FATHER'S LOVE

I saw the sun in the morning, at early dawn, in June,
The hills of earth adorning while nature hummed a tune.
The song birds warbled a carol of praise from their tiny throats,
And tolling bees tried to bear all the nectar whose fragrance floats
Like incense, to realms of glory enshrined in the heavens blue;
And it told me the gist of a story, old as time, yet forever new.
What is the theme of the story when earth smiles to heaven above?
To me it's the story, in picture of a Heavenly Father's love.

But anon, when the day was waning to a glorious afternoon,
I beheld a cloud in the distance; a storm seemed coming soon.
I watched its portentous gathering; I heard its threatening roar
As if angry waves of the ocean beat high on the rock-walled shore.
Now, no longer the song of birds warbled, Now, no longer the shadows crept;
For on, in terrific fury, a black tornado swept.

And all that had life's instincts blanched in terror and fear
As we fear when despair confronts us, and no one our plea can hear.
There were mighty trees uprooted, and strewn upon the ground
And lovely homes in debris were scattered all around.
Oh; the lovely scene of that morning! And that glorious scene at noon,
I beheld in that awful ruin where the maimed and the dead were strewn!
Unto what can we liken such fury that destroys in a single blast
The glorious works of creation that have stood through ages past?
To me it seems like the turmoil that rages within a soul
When love is o'er shadowed, and reason, and the passions spurn control!

But at eve I beheld the heavens- an arch of tranquil blue -
And the sun at the west horizon- an orb of golden hue.
For the sun and the skies are forever, though earth's storms move to and fro
And Our Father's love is constant, though our passions come and go.
Oh; life's Day has its storms and turmoils; but at eve'n there cometh rest
And Our Father's love awaits like a sunset in the west.

My Aunt Emma actually was in a tornado that ripped through Kansas City, MO. Though I don't know the dates or specifics, I did find some very old photos of the Tornado's damage in her scrapbook. Here's a few:

Of course, these are very old photos and hard to see details especially when houses, buildings, trees, and debris are intertwined. It must have been some experience. Her faith helped her look on the bright side and be thankful even through such a storm as that.

Dear Friends & Family:

My grandmother was born in Kansas City, MO. When she was 3 her family moved to California. She lived in Glendale, CA.; Flagstaff, AZ.; and Phoenix, AZ. She was married at 18. Her husband had a renowned hardwood floor installation business that serviced Glendale, Pasadena, and Hollywood. Louise was the bookkeeper. They had 4 children: Beverly, Cathi, Bill and Carole. My Grandfather, Donald King, passed away on January 27th, 1985.

She loved people of all races and made everyone feel welcome. She was a wonderful hostess who did her best to keep family together and host reunions. She was a Seventh-Day-Adventist. She made clear to me her favor for Israel and Jewish people and that she felt Jesus (The Messiah) would return very soon. She was an outspoken political conservative who enjoyed Rush and O'Reilly. She was an amateur photographer & flower arranger. In her earlier years she was a Beltmore Flowers party hostess and later in her life she was an Avon Representative. Louise loved nature and animals, especially camping (the early years) at Yosemite. Everything she did she did with excellence.

For me personally she was a great role model and solid rock while growing up. She spent time teaching me things from sewing, gardening, cooking, photography, flower arranging, as well as shopping and balancing a check-book (girl stuff.) Her house was always organized and clean, which I admired. She was a proper lady who was well known and respected in her church and in the community. She was a well-spring of knowledge, understanding, and a lot of fun. Everything she did she did with excellence!! She invested a lot in me. She loved animals, cats and dogs- I remember "Misty" (kitty) "Sugar" (dog) and "Suzie" (kitty.) When I was a little girl she made me and my cousin matching sun dresses with a strawberry print. She gave me a doll that I named "Suzie" and she created an entire custom wardrobe for the doll. She was always busy with projects and I loved that about her because she would also include me and teach me things. We had great conversations about God and politics, too. She was a strong outspoken conservative and I enjoyed hearing her views. We shared lots of wonderful memories. She was inspiration and sunshine to me.

I was so glad to be with her during these last days. At the very end, she opened her eyes as much as she could briefly to see those around her and we were able to tell her we loved her and it was okay to go see Jesus. She then breathed her last breath on earth and awoke to a splendorous new beginning in heaven without cancer. Having family around her was very important to her and we were blessed to have been there.

Though no one is perfect, she was definitely a woman worthy of honor and respect. She reminds me of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was a blessing and she was blessed.

How we can celebrate the birth of the Messiah during Hanukkah

Though Hanukkah is a celebration of its own, apart from Christianity, through the Scriptures we read how the Lord, Y’shua refers to Himself and by the prophets of old as the, “Light of the World.” Since we are Messianic (grafted in ones or completed Jews) we understand how the Messiah has fulfilled the Scriptures and is ultimately part of every major feast and celebration. During Hanukkah, also called the Festival of Lights, we light the Menorah and enjoy the “light.” Light is indicative with “seeing the light,” that is, to understand the truth. While we celebrate the Messiah in all the feasts, the particular way we can refer to Him during Hanukkah, is that He is light and the truth. Hanukkah is the “Feast of Dedication,” in which the Temple was consecrated to God. In the same way we also must be consecrated with the light of God in our hearts. A miracle happened when the oil burned for eight days. The number eight is the number for “new beginnings.” Prophetically, new beginning points to the time when the Messiah would come and make us a “living temple.” 1^st Cor. 3:16, “Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” When we receive His salvation through the forgiveness of sins and belief in Him, the Scripture tells us that He gives us new life and we are “born again.” The Holy Spirit comes to live inside us. In this way, the oil and the light become part of our worship. Not only do we remember the light of the Lord by observing His times and seasons, but the light is now inside of us. We are to share His light with others. His light is the Gospel message. Ceremony is only one aspect of our worship and is there to give us visual aids and to inspire us to action. The real power is the Holy Spirit changing us from glory to glory. The message of Y’shua, our Rabbi, is to “do” what we He teaches, to do more than observe.

My belief is that, as Messianic Christians, we should not participate in traditions of worship or customs proven to be based on untruths. Certainly, we should not entertain pagan rituals and myths; things not born of God or His love. Faith and fiction do not mix. As far as placing focus on Santa and “helper” elves (replacements for Y’shua and the Ruach Ha’Kodesh) as well as placing an over emphasis on gift getting has taken people in the wrong direction. The Gospel message of Y’shua is seldom seen anymore. Nativity scenes are slipping away. I think the church should have been celebrating Hanukkah all along and shared this light with the world. There are so many things we tolerate in the church that have nothing to do with Scripture and the true worship of God. When we allow shallow things to enter our sanctuaries we are allowing a spirit of confusion in our midst. God is not a God of confusion.

We can celebrate the birth of Y’shua and enjoy the nativity story during Hanukkah or any time of year because that is Scriptural. The truth is that the Messiah was born as the light of the world, even though we do not know for absolute sure when that occurred. It is probable that He was born during Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. Immanuel in Matthew 1:23 means, “God With Us,” which says literally God is among us. Tabernacle refers to God dwelling with us. No matter the date, the main point is that He was born and we can see His fulfillment of Scripture and enjoy that in a proper manner. In a season when Christianity celebrates the Messiah’s birth, He then becomes the bridge to lead people back to the Jewish roots of their faith. Hanukkah is a great way for us to share about the Messiah. Additionally, the story of Maccabee is a lesson to not defile ourselves by mixing our worship with lies and made up things, thereby separating ourselves from God and displeasing Him. The story magnifies that we should not taint the Biblical expression of worship God designed with purpose and intent. The story also exemplifies the need to stand up for truth and fight, if necessary, to be restored to God. The birth, life, death, resurrection, and 2^nd coming of Y’shua are the restoration of man to God. The ministry of Y’shua is the restoration of Israel and all her proper boundaries. During this season we celebrate the light that came into the world, not in a pagan manner, but in a “Jewish roots” manner worthy of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Messianic Hanukkah Introduction

INTRODUCTION

The Lord calls us to worship in “spirit and in truth,” so it is important in my family to do our best to be educated and avoid Greek, mythological, pagan, or secular humanistic influences in our worship of the Lord. Our desire is to remember the things of God as written in Scripture and to observe them. Our intent is to worship in thoughts and in deeds that keep our hands pure before the Lord. Our worship should be holy; that is, “set apart.”

There is evidence that strongly suggest Y’shua was born during the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot.) Once a year the heads of each household are to come to Jerusalem during Sukkot which lands somewhere around September/October on our Gregorian calendar. Remember the story about how there was no place for Mary and Joseph to rest because all the dwellings were full of people? In the year that Y’shua was born a census was also being conducted during this Feast. The Bible says in Luke 2:4-5 that Joseph went to Bethlehem in order to register himself and his family. When they arrived, Mary was ready to give birth. There was no room for them in the Inn because of the plethora of people traveling in for the census and the Feast of Tabernacles. During Sukkot, temporary shelters are made as a reminder of when God provided for the Israelites in the wilderness. These shelters are enclosed in the back and sides leaving the front open. The roof has palm branches on top. Does this remind you of the nativity scene? There is a strong possibility that Mary and Joseph took shelter in a Sukkot. The manger was a feeding trough for animals most likely, but nothing is said in the Gospels of Y’shua being born in a barn or a cave. One should not assume that “manger” means that Y’shua was born in a barn with animals, as there is no such Biblical reference. The manger could have been borrowed from a Shepherd. On the Web page, biblelight.net/Sukkoth.htm, author Michael Scheifler reveals an astounding timeline placing Our Messiah’s birth during Sukkot based on the time cycle of Zacharias duty to serve in the Temple, to the conception of John the Baptist, to Jesus being conceived in the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy and so on. His computations are easy to read and understand as well as being based on Scripture. Understanding that Y’shua fulfilled prophecy and Scripture, fitting into the times and seasons He ordained, one can make perfect sense of His being born during Sukkot. Furthermore, the feast looks to the future when the Messiah will return and tabernacle or dwell with us once more.

Some people choose to celebrate the birth of Y’shua (Jesus) on Christmas because they have grown up in Christian homes and have learned this tradition. Few have ventured to research and challenge such beliefs and practices, most probably because there are many good things about the holiday, that to think otherwise seems sacrilegious. The Gospel and wonderful hymns pointing to Jesus being the “reason for the season” does a great job of covering up other unbiblical practices. Ultimately in my research I have to ask, “Has Christmas replaced Hanukkah?” Since I do not believe in replacement theology, this is a question to be pondered and researched. Gentiles (non-Jews) who receive salvation through Y’shua are “grafted in” to the Abraham covenant. Jews who accept Y’shua and receive His salvation are “completed” or made whole in the Lord. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. God’s character reveals that He never breaks His promises and He is faithful, even when His people are not faithful. As cited in Romans chapter eleven, God did not abandon the Jews. Hebrews 8:8-12 shows that He created a new covenant, an improved covenant with the Jews, a covenant of salvation where His laws will be written upon their hearts. The covenant of salvation through Y’shua has been given to the Jew first and then to the Gentile (Romans 1:16.) In this covenant we became the “living temple” whereby the Holy Spirit of God lives inside us (1^st Corinthians 3:16), so when we celebrate Hanukkah, for example, we do so, not in tradition alone, but with spiritual understanding and edification. We are not as people who listen but do not hear, we are not as people who do sanctimonious ritual and are lifeless. Instead, we are worshipers transformed in His glory, as we obey and partake of His Word. The salvation which God offers is a free gift and without partiality, for we have become one in the Lord. Galatians 3:28-29 says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek; there is neither slave or free man; there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.”

The birth of the Messiah is a joyous and wonderful occasion to cherish always and the Gospel is easily emphasized in all our celebrations. We rejoice in His birth through the Messianic Hanukkah celebration as the “Light of the World,” John 3:16. Hanukkah directly relates to Y’shua and His prophetic fulfillment of Scripture. John 10:22 makes known that Jesus attended the Feast of Dedication and that He utilized the event to express His divinity.

No one knows when Y’shua was born, therefore we have come to realize that celebrating His birthday on December 25^th simply is not a known fact nor have we found anything in Scripture to mandate Christmas. The very foundation of Christmas being Jesus birthday is not based on truth. Furthermore, let us keep in mind that Jesus existed before the earth was created. We do find Hanukkah in the Scripture, though. We know that the cleansing of the Temple occurred on the 25^th day of Kislev (December 25^th) the same day that Christmas was chosen to be celebrated. What is so ironic is realizing through my studies the ways in which Christianity forgot its Jewish roots and as a result, journeyed unprotected into allowing pagan, Greek, mythological, and humanistic symbols and rituals into their worship. Many Christian traditions may have started with good intentions, but in actuality were far from the original expression. Some early church leaders actually thought that placing a Christian label on something or creating a Christian event in place of a pagan one would actually redeem what was sinful. Instead, we should return to our Jewish roots and get in line with the times and seasons set forth by God, and not man. We should seek the roots and seek what is pleasing to God so that we are not in any way offensive to God in spirit, mind, heart, and deed.

Did the church struggle to find new holy days and its liturgy to replace what God had already established? There was no need, since the pattern of worship existed already as the pattern in heaven. Sure, some things did change. There is no longer any need for animal sacrifice because Y’shua is the sacrifice. There is no need for a new Temple and the things therein because Y’shua will be bringing His Temple from heaven to earth. These are the changes, which Y’shua spoke about. However, the Feasts are “lasting ordinances,” holy days observed forever (permanent, eternal, and always) and will be celebrated in heaven. The main “forever” observances are Sabbath (Ex. 31:17), Passover (Ex. 12:14, 17), Pentecost - First Fruits - Weeks (Lev. 23:21), Tabernacles - Booths - Trumpets - Atonement (Lev. 23:41.) The things that Y’shua did are not new holy days; they are the fulfillment of the established holy days of old. Now that we live in the Messianic Age, we worship God with understanding and with the Ruach Ha’Kodesh in us. Some things will pass away altogether when Y’shua comes a second time, like prophesy, as the Bible tells us will occur. Yet, for now we have prophesy. The Lord even commanded that baptism (Mikvah) should continue, but in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and not by the ashes of a red heifer. He said to do communion (which came from the Passover Feast) in remembrance of His sacrifice. We still should obey the Ten Commandments, which did not expire, yet with the law of love in our hearts. We should fulfill the law and worship as Y’shua did- He is our example.

We should come to maturity and understand what things remain, what things were finished, and what things have no relevance whatsoever, because they were made up by man. Matthew 5:17-20 says, “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the Law, until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and so teaches others, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.” There are many things that we observe today, both in the First and Second (updated) Covenant (Old and New Testament.) Shouldn’t we also pay attention to the times and seasons of the Lord? Ponder, “What has replaced the things of the Lord?” Y’shua adds no burdens to us like the Rabbis and church leaders who pile on rules upon God’s rules, laws upon God’s laws, and days upon God’s days. While God asks us to serve Him and remember, He does not want us to observe as illegitimate sons (unsaved) and with no true connection with His Spirit. “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone for your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit [Ruach Ha’Kodesh] within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.” Ez. 36:26-28

Furthermore, it is important to note that King Jeroboam, in 1^st Kings 12:32 instituted his own feast of the Lord as an “alternative;” a replacement of the feast of the Lord. He devised this feast, “in his own heart,” to ensure his rule over the people. He did not want the northern and southern kingdom to reunite; that is, his people to return to their roots. There may have been human justifications to establish Christmas as a counter measure against the winter solstice, Yule, or Dies Natalis Solis Invicti, or worse yet, maybe a hidden agenda against the Feast of Dedication. Yet, my perspective is that one of the biggest problems is through the centuries Christmas has become the standard. Many true Christians have been inspired by amazingly wonderful songs and some meaningful stories and these expressions of worship have come forth from the true heart of unsuspecting Christians. In purity, they expressed the Biblical truth of the birth of the Messiah. It is the Scriptural expression that has inspired us today and that essence should remain throughout the year. However, these feelings we have about the true meaning of Christmas (Christ’s birth) should be untangled and set apart from the cords of what is untrue. Perhaps there are all kinds of logic to hang on to many popular traditions and so one can become confused. In this case, it is important to go through the exercise of separating out what is truth and what is lie. Furthermore, it may be difficult to take the Jewish roots in all at once. That’s okay as long as the journey is begun. Taking one step at a time and becoming better educated, one will become less confused every day. Sometimes God asks us to take a leap of faith, even before we understand it all. The good news is that as long as we are open and willing to listen and obey God, He will lead the way. Once you know the right way, walk in it.

What shall we do with the customs like the Christmas tree? When we conduct a real study on the origins and how customs came about, we have to ask, “What is the real precedence for a worship expression?” What is it that we are really celebrating? Going back to the Bible to help with the answer is Jeremiah 10:3-4, which states, “For the customs of the peoples are false: a tree from the forest is cut down, and worked with an ax by the hands of an artisan. People deck it with silver and gold they fasten it with hammer and nails so that it cannot move.” I assert that the only redeeming quality is the birth of Christ and not the holiday customs that attempt to hijack it. Additionally, what is so sad is that the part of the Gospel message relating to the birth of the Messiah is easily ignored by Jews, because of the manner in which Christians celebrate Christmas. The very foundation is flawed and it would have been powerful for them to see Y’shua as He is, “The Light of the World.” Here is the Jewish Messiah in a Sukkoth, yet both Jewish and Christian eyes are veiled- Christians because they are likely to miss the rich significance of the Feast and the Jewishness of Jesus and Jews because they are likely to miss the miracle of the “Word made flesh.”

While Santa, for example, is reminiscent of a saint that did good works, it is not spiritually relevant to exploit and revere such a person to the stature Santa has been given in many homes today; not to mention the meanderings of his mythical elves, which have nothing to do with Christ’s birth. I could go on and explain the pagan roots of such things that have crept in, I would rather move on to the joys of Hanukkah in this publication. Yet, let me say this, at what point do we open our eyes and realize that we will no longer tolerate anything but the truth and the whole truth?

Those of us who have deep feelings and joy, which is part of our worship experience with the Lord, must realize that our feelings and joy are not dependent upon Christmas or any other holiday, but are fashioned by God in our relationship with Him. Our faith and our worship continue to deepen when we observe and learn about the Biblical feasts, because these are the ordinances He set forth. Being part of the world is not the same as partaking of the world. God still calls us to be holy and pure in our worship expressions. We are very excited to celebrate Hanukkah each year and the hope we have in the Messiah’s return and restoration of Zion. In this season we consecrate ourselves as living temples in this “Feast of Dedication.” We look to the future and being spiritually prepared for eternal life.

Each symbol and dramatic act we utilize in worship should be an accurate reminder and a representation of the truth found in Scripture. As people, we tend to forget all the benefits of serving the Lord, so in observing these feasts we are reminded. These rehearsals for heaven teach and engrain the truth of God in our hearts, minds, and souls for all time. We should not forget all the benefits of the Lord! Our actions and our words are a pure expression of thankful intimacy with our God as we worship Him and no other. We are being prepared in heavenly culture and seeking to worship in a manner that is pleasing to the Lord and not ourselves.

A City In Distress

Prophetic dream 10/25/09

I was down by the docks when I began to hear of some trouble. Then, I saw a city with its lights going on and off- a city in distress. I heard a guy say something about a bomb and a new surge in an old enemy. There was a need to take shelter. Saw people on the outskirts disoriented, confused, and dazed. Women who were caring for children, as in a day care, had to take cover and some children suddenly became orphans. People were taking shelter in places they never thought they’d take shelter in. Days went by. Shops were closed. The place seemed like a ghost town, but actually people were hiding in their apartments and homes afraid to come out of them. People who lost their homes and other things were grouping together- people that never would group together due to personal preferences and social status. For at least a couple days there was lack of communication with the outside.

I cannot prophesy date, time, or place. The people I saw were U.S. citizens and it happened during the day. I will post more details if and when I get them. Remember that prophets do often prophesy as a team- that is, prophesy can be a piece that may go to another prophesy. So, I may not get all the details, but another prophet may have more to say that matches to complete a bigger picture. Don’t assume though as it really requires proper judgment and Holy Spirit discernment.

This is a warning to be prepared for any emergency.

This is a call to prayer.

My Dwelling Place

Note: These are two poems in one indicative of "dwelling" together. The bold text, second lines, are one poem and the top lines not bolded are the other poem. Each poem is nine lines. The line that connects to two poems is the middle line at the end, "only tears of great joy will stream from my eyes" representing the joy of reunion and embrace at seeing one another face to face. Nine lines in each poem reveals love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control- that is, the fruit of the Holy Spirit. This is a prophetic poem of worship.

Netanyahu's Speech to UN

"Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu: The favor of Adonai is upon you. He has anointed you to accomplish what He has placed in your heart. "

I was in Israel with a team of girls from Eastern Heights Church in Cleburne, Texas. We were in Jerusalem celebrating the ICEJ Feast of Tabernacles. While in Israel we viewed various sites and took numerous prayer walks. We danced on the streets of Jerusalem and prayed for peace within her walls. One day we went to the Knesset and the Lord gave us a physical sign- a prophetic sign of which I now know its interpretation.

The girls saw a murder of crows surrounding one dove at the onset of our beginning prayers and praise to Adonai. The crows then encamped around us each on a lamp post. Furthermore, I could see a swarm of crows encircling the Knesset building. When I saw the crows or ravens circling the Lord gave me a Scripture and ministered to me that all the nations would one day turn on Israel and some were anxious to devour her. This made me gasp. I was concerned if the U.S. should ever turn its back on Israel.

As we prayed and praised Adonai, the crows began to leave the lamp posts (stationed around us) one by one until no crows were left. This was a wonderful indication (though physical signs are not always present or an indicator) that the spiritual forces of darkness could not stand the light of prayers and praises to Adonai.

After we were finished and started to leave we saw an amazing prophetic sign. A flock of doves were surrounding one crow. This was just the opposite of the first scene with crows surrounding one lonesome dove.

Now, let me prophesy that in Netanyahu's first term things were rough and difficult. Enemies were gathered (as always) against Zion. Certain "crows" surrounded Netanyahu to discourage and to hinder- "crows" from within and without and from other cities and nations. This is as the first sign of crows surrounding one dove.

However, there is a second term of office, a second chance, a second wind! This time things will be different. This time things ARE different! More power, support, ability, and sheer strength are given to you, Netanyahu! This time a flock of doves will surround one lonesome crow. Your enemies will not be effective as they try to surround you, they will not destroy you, they will not overcome you. This is the time to proceed with full speed, with the speed of Angels, the speed of the word of Adonai.

And lastly an encouragement to never give up the good fight and to pursue peace- real and lasting peace, not fake peace from appeasers of terror, but SHALOAM PEACE as Adonai Himself could bless.

1.5 Million March on Washington

The news media are saying "tens of thousands" attended the 9/12 March on Washington. One newscast on MSNBC said fifty-thousand. We were there and heard the report of 1.5 million estimated by capitol police. I have never been in a crowd as large as that my entire life. As far as I could see there were people. Why would the media downplay the largest gathering in the history of marches on Washington?

There were lots of different folks from different backgrounds and ages and one common purpose to send Congress and the White House a message that they don’t like the direction our country is headed. Issues ranged from taxes and the health bill to government over spending and czars. Most all of the signs I saw were normal protest signs with strong positive messages. While some of the signs I saw were clever and to the point of concerns such as, “Abortion is not health care.” Other signs were shocking and left me with the sense that I was living in extreme times such as a caricature of President Obama with “Liar” written all over him. There were a few signs that I thought were premature such as comparing Obama to Hitler. Other signs I would be ashamed to hold because they were in bad taste such as, “Bury health care with Kennedy,” because this man recently passed away. Even though I agree that the current health care bill should be buried, I would refrain myself from holding such a sign out of respect for another human’s life. Still, I did understand the concerns and frustrations that people had and I have that will find a way to express itself in a creative way however crass that may have been. I also understand that there are extreme times where people need an outlet. At the very least 1.5 million people had the courage to stand up and point out the slippery slope the American government and voters have strayed onto. This really is a serious and pivotal point in our American history and we do need to stand up for those things we believe in. Yet, at the same time we should not allow anyone to exploit the issues for their own end game. We should be independently strong and secure in our outspoken views.

As a people of good heart and mind we should understand that there are people who we disagree with who are decent people. Though some may be deceived, truly they believe they are carrying out justice and doing well for the majority of people. The Bible says that there is a way that seems right to a man, but therein lies death. We should, out of love and concern for individuals, warn of dangerous choices. Anyone can be deceived at any time and though this does not excuse them, we should, as believers, understand that they are imperfect humans as we all are and require human decency. It is right to oppose bad and evil things, but we must do so with a moral compass, clear conscience, and factual statements. It is because of love for others and respect for ourselves that we do stand up and speak out- at least, it should be.

For me, there was one particular sign that made me very sad. The sign said, “I don’t trust you, Mr. President.” This statement really pierced my heart. I do not think that any true leader wants to be mistrusted or hated in any way. A leader wants to be respected and trusted the same as any other person. Since I am a leader myself, I couldn’t help but look at the sign from a leader’s perspective. I felt bad for President Obama as I did for President Bush that certain decisions of theirs brought grief and mistrust to millions of people. I cannot imagine what a tough job it is to be President. It is hard enough being a leader of those things I am responsible for. Yet I know that when a leader loses the general trust of the people he or she no longer is able to lead them. When I saw the sign I just cringed. I also felt bad for the person carrying the sign that they were experiencing a breach of trust and no longer had confidence in their government leaders to do the right thing. While we should not place our full hope or trust in any person there still exists a sacred trust that friends and leaders will not betray us. The poor “relationship” issue between citizens and their government was definitely a major theme for the event and at the root issue for most people. Surely, leaders should know that people want to be heard and respected as well. Did Washington hear?

Some of the news media who were against the March described the people marching as racists, people of hate, white-whiter-whitest, and extremists- these were the “nicer” comments. I would hope to God, with all my heart, that this movement is not race driven. If it is, I am not part of it. Yet, I truly, after talking to so many people, don’t see it as race driven. No one I have personally talked to has said any racial slur. That does not mean that there aren’t some people out there who are racist and this event would be an outlet for them. I just don’t think the majority of people are fearful or hateful towards people of a different race or culture. For me personally, I did see predominately white skinned people at the event and for me personally that bothers me. I did look for my black brothers and sisters. I wondered why there weren’t more blacks standing up. While I did see black and other races at the event, I missed seeing more of them. I wondered why my black friends weren’t there and standing up. Were they afraid? Were they mislead by voting for Obama and hiding away quietly? Were they uninformed? Were they opposed to the March? I had a lot of questions. I talked with one black man who shared some answers with me in his own opinion. I lost the interview I had with him because my tape recorder was full, but the things he said were so profound. He talked about the black churches and their socialistic and entitlement interpretations and beliefs. He talked about class war. He mentioned the extreme allegiance to black history and culture. I mentioned a pastor friend of mine that said that once we become a new creation in the Lord we leave the old identity behind. Our race should not define us, our culture should not define us, a movement should not define us, and our government should not define us. God and our actions define us. I also wonder if white folks, who started this country of ours, don’t understand in greater detail the foundational principles upon which this country should be governed. Perhaps because of our education as white folks and our own history we are among the majority to make this stand against the direction our government is taking us. I don’t think it would be wise for the media or anyone for that matter to begin demoralizing white people for the color of their skin just as I would condemn doing so for the black person.

I do not want to see class wars in my country. I have seen such wars in other countries and the millions of lives lost because of them. It is horrible when one people group or religious affiliation is pitted against another in a manner that releases death. A tragedy occurs and then a class of people is blamed. Then someone wanting to be a hero takes measures into their own hands. Then people begin to defend themselves and the violence begins and is very hard to stop. I do not agree with racist extremists who would go after a specific race of people. I see beauty in the various cultures of the world. However, I also understand completely the need to protect family, liberty, and core beliefs. I am concerned that people, huge classes of people, are being used and manipulated by upper echelon gurus who have the understanding and power to shape events. Moreover and more importantly, spirits of darkness who move and influence mass groups of people. I often have to take a step back even from the media and seek God on issues. We cannot believe everything we see or hear. We must think and investigate and read for ourselves, and most of all, pray and discern as best as we can.

I am also saddened because we have in the White House the first family with African-American and other ethnic background. My hope was that whenever this history making event took place it would be one of the best in our American history. For some it is and will remain so because their ideology allows them to rejoice in appearance alone. However, I cannot rejoice just because we have a dark-skinned, young, good-looking, charismatic, great speaking, family-man President. I am required by my own conscience to look deeper and rejoice only in the good I find in any man- the kind of good that comes from God.

As with all crowds (and we have experienced plenty) there are those who are moderate and those who are extreme. Some voice their concerns creatively and with power while others may engage in emotional rhetoric. Nonetheless, how a person deals with issues gives indication to their maturity level, but does not negate truth when it is spoken!

As a prophetic minister with discernment I was able to see some of the spiritual forces at work during the March and these are the same spiritual forces at work on the other side of the fence. I walked all over the Mall and lawns and streets and among many groupings of people. I did experience people’s fears and concerns and even oppression of the mind, heart, and soul. At the same time, I also felt hope, courage, resolve, and the strong will of the American people. So many people had good intentions and good in their heart and were engaging in their right to speak up for what is good in our constitution and to preserve what is good about our country. Yet, as we know not all intentions of every person are pure all the time and can be seen in any large grouping of people. I do not like the spirits of darkness that I saw, which were mostly taunting and annoying. We ALL should be careful not to fall into the pit of despair, helplessness, and hate of man rather than sin. We should be proactive, speak the truth, educate, and vote wisely.

I went to the March mostly as an observer for our radio show. Yet, I do have my own issues with the government and President Obama relating to policy, overspending, and the direction our country is headed. I also have concerns based on various things I have seen prophetically. From what I have seen in my own discernment, study, and travels in various countries I see earmarks and red flags that alert me that leaders, law makers, and individuals are treading on dangerous ground. A lot of what I am seeing is a “tolerance” war and “godlessness” all of which the Bible says will come to pass in the end times. The Word says that in the end times the love in men’s hearts will grow cold. We are fighting a spiritual darkness more than anything such as ideologies of humanism, atheism, and the selfish lustful desires of the sin nature. Most people at the end of the day are depressed, discouraged, and in need of something good to happen to them. More importantly, they need a real Savior, one who loves them without doubt, without fear, and without any manipulative agenda.

I do believe that there are extreme times which may call for extreme measures such as certain Bible stories depict such as the prophets who tore down idols and leaders who would not bow down to idols and speaking loudly the truth to wake people up and call them to repentance. Yet, such things should be inspired by the Holy Spirit and/or the basic God given instinct to survive and not self-directed out of unholy crevices of our minds and hearts. Not only have my husband and I studied the holocaust and Hitler in detail as well as other movements and leaders, we look at how people progressively responded to such things. Some people twiddled their thumbs thinking no bad thing should come to them. Others were like little lambs led to slaughter. Others fought to educate and request help from other citizens. Others hid. Others took up arms. Yet, in all these cases, before any action was taken, there was a season where those who had a platform to get warning messages of pending danger out to the people. Some people ignored the prophets, the forewarning of the educated leaders, and the twinges of their own gut. I believe that each of us in our own lifetime are faced with things that will bring us to question what kind of person we are or aren’t. While we should be alarmists ringing the bell on every little thing, we should be discerning enough to know when inaction has brought us into serious lack. We should not be unprepared for any state of emergency. We should not be shocked, perplexed, naive, and found dumbfounded and realize that anything could happen at any time. We should be prepared and ready to do what is necessary to survive and keep alive those things which are precious and sacred to life and liberty.

So, for me, I walked away from this event encouraged by those who were able to stand up for what they believed and voice things that were factual. I came away with thoughts of sadness and amazement that I was living in such times. I left with a sense of concern for our Nation and those living within it from all different cultural backgrounds. I sensed loss in certain people groups that were not there. I realized more than ever our need to act, yes, but also to pray and repent for the sins of our nation. I gained optimism that so many thousands of other people felt the way I did about certain issues and that I was not alone and not a small insignificant minority as some media outlets portray. I was infused with empowerment as “We the people” engaged in our freedom of speech process. I had never been in a March of such magnitude and scope and that in itself was a thrill all its own. I certainly increased my own education and my eyes were opened on several fronts. As a whole I saw a large majority of believers (not all who marched were believers) awaken from their complacent, indifferent, and comfort seeking lives.

Messianic Dance

There is a blessing when brothers dwell together in unity. Some have unrighteously critisized us for worshiping together in Messianic dance. We are in fact Jews and Chritians who have found our common ground and believe in Y'shua (Jesus) as the Messiah (Christ.) This is my heartfelt response to the YouTube blog on the video posted above.

Let me paint a picture for you. There is a girl holding a bowl of fruit. This fruit is precious and contains the blessings of Shabbat, the warmth of Sukkot, the joy of Pesach, the healing of Yom Kippur, the light of Hanukkah, the beauty of Purim, the redemption of Passover, and the song of Rosh Hashanah. The girl relished these fruits. They are her very heart and soul. These are the works of God which she can eat and digest and become fulfilled in Adonai.

Then comes along a Jew who thinks they are superior. This pious child calls her a "goyim" and rips her very spiritual sustenance away. The fruit falls to the ground and the Jew curses her as undeserving and wretched. The girl lay crying in the dust rejected and abused. Then she sees one piece of fruit left in the bowl, but it is the sourness of Tish B'Av. She picks herself up and wipes her tear stained face picking up the bitter fruit. Though unedible she wraps her hands around the fruit and puts it close to her heart. She understands that she should never treat anyone with such contempt as was done to her.

The name of the girl with the fruit is "Ruth-through-the-ages." She lives within every one of us redeemed kinsmen who say, "I will go where you go and your God will be my God." Truly, it would have been better for the Jew to welcome her sister than to rot away with jealousy.

To those who would try to crush the journey of God's children is lost in their own darkness. The Rabbi, Y'shua Ha Mashiac said that whoever causes one of these little ones to stumble, it is better for him that a heavey millstone be hung around his nec, and that he be drowned in the depth of the sea." Of course, He is figuratively speaking to get His point across.

The fact is that those who are grafted into the root of Jesse are no less a part of God that the original natural branches. Neither branch should be arrogant against the other. Each branch is being drawn to the root, to the truth, to love, and to understanding.

There are many people in this world who are Jewish and never know it. Others find out about their family later in life having never set a foot in a synagogue. Others are Jewish and find that in fact Y'shua is the Messiah and realize to believe in Him does not mean conversion or leaving their faith. Then there are people of different cultures who through Y'shua and the law of God being writen upon their hearts observe Torah. There are many kinds from many backgrounds and that doesn't really matter. It's not where we've been that counts, but where we are going. What matters is if we have become a new creation in Him and our sins are forgiven.

Have some of the branches (on both sides) gone far away from the root? The answer is, "Yes," and many are trainted by the pagan rituals of the world and have not kept what is holy, pure. Still, the Lord is calling us out of those things and drawing us into more of Him. Let us love without hypocrisy, abhor what is evil and cling to what is good.

Our Town Hall 2009

This is a brief look at the town hall meeting in our area. Duncan is the first atendee at the mic in this video saying that we have a right to persue life, liberty, and happiness. It is our opinion that through this bill life, liberty, and happiness will be diminished. Representative Boozman did a great job hosting this event. The panel of experts were wonderful and they were people who actually read the bill. Though there was passion about this topic by most present, concerns were expressed in a respectful manner.

Peach Orchard Divorce

A dream I had on 8/30/09

There was a family who owned a large orchard. They had several stores. There was an ugly divorce in the family. A daughter and her father went into business together and began their own store using product from the orchard, but she was already divorced. The father and daughter felt they had a right to the store and to benefit from the orchard. The prior husband did not agree and came to see them and was furious and in my impression that guy was nasty and scary and not doing what was right by people- this guy was trying to own everything including people, thus one of the reasons for the divorce. Anyway, the dream continued and there was going to be litigation over the issue. Then I saw tons of people from the family all gathered together to watch the outcome.

Diversion & Possible Explosion

A dream on 8/30/09

I was in a car on a street. It was a little dark outside. We stoped at the traffic light. I saw a man pass our car who walked from the right hand side of the stree to meet a friend who was walking from the left side of the street. The man from the right, who had a cell phone in his right hand, yelled out, "_____ _____ Kareem." He was looking for his friend on the other side. I looked to my left and I saw behind a bunch of other people a man who peeked out and it was, "_______ ________ Kareem." As Kareem walked towards the man who was in the middle of the street now and in front of my car. Both men were clean shaven and wore silk shirts. I saw that kareem had a white gause like wrap on his left hand as well as a device and what looked like to me like a walkie-talkie, weather radio, or powerful cell phone. It was small but had a fat antenea on it. He held it as to conceal it and the white gause helped to do that. The two men greeted quickly, the other guy slapping kareem on the back, and continued to cross the street back to the right side. I got a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I wanted to get out of that place right away. As soon as the light turned green I said to step on the gas and get away from that place. However, the traffic light flickered and there seemed to be a problem. The car I was in raced forward and then an explosion in a building in front of me went off. Let me describe the place from my view. There are buildings on each side of the street and vendors. A flower or grocery like shop on the left closest to the blast. There is a street perpenticular ahead so that I can see the face of the building that was bombed. The area is a popluated area. I saw papers, perhaps advertisements, on some of the outer walls of the building. In the building that was blasted I couldn't tell if it was apartments or something else. What was interesting though is that it looked like construction was going on in the building which was the perfect cover for planting explosives. After the blast, I saw detectives and people such as this investigating. They were fortunate and found great clues. One of the clues was some type of sticky fluid that I have never seen before and newspapers. The sticky fluid was in containers, it may have been those big plastic containers of paint or glue like material. I was curious in my dream why I didn't see first responders helping people get out of the building, but perhaps I saw it this way to indicate that the blast may be prevented. It took about three weeks for the terrorists to complete the project. The building also had an interesting door on the first floor passed the foyer. It could be a unique elevator door, not sure. The door was whitish ornate. I didn't see it up close to well, it could have been painted iron to an elevator or some type of artistry on the door. It looked old and it was wide like double doors.

God Save This Young Man!

A dream I had around the week of September 14th about a young man and some friends. The post date is not accurate because if I post an earlier date the prophetic word won't show up on the front page and I don't always want the prophetic word to be at the forefront of the blog. Thanks for understanding that.

Anyway, there was a party and some friends (college age I think) were at this party. There was one particular guy who had a drug/drinking problem and all his friends knew about it. Some friends didn't like that the guy with the problem was really bad off because most of the group that partied together wern't that crazy about serious substance abuse. There were new people coming to hang out at different parties here and there. Then there was this one particular night that a guy pulled up in a deep red (almost maroon but not) truck. It was a modern truck design so it was a newer vehicle. The guy who owned the truck liked to (and I don't know the exact word for it) go rompin around in rough terrain like hills and stuff- it was a hobby. So, as he pulled up to the house where the party was, the guy with the substance abuse problem came out and greeted the guy asking him for a ride home. The red truck guy really didn't want to do this because he had just arrived to the party. This is where the dream is uncertain because the guy in the red truck remained with me watching what transpired next. I am guessing that he gave the car keys to the substance abuse guy after asking him if he was okay to drive and the guy promised he was. What I saw next was the substance abuse guy in the truck deciding to have some fun with the vehicle. I think he even took a few things to make the drive "funner." The owner of the truck was not in the truck, but watching was I was watching. The susbstance abuse guy rolled the truck down a hill and lost his life. This is a serious prophetic warning, but since I do not know the people involved and have never seen them I can only pray that this event will not occur. I pray that these kids will have more sense about them. This is disturbing.

Guy & Curse

A Dream I had September 19th, 2009 (the post date is 9/20/09 - I put this to a later date so it would not post on the front page.)

Car broke down and some people helped. Then, I found myself in a church like compound. The people seemed nice. Regular stuff was going on like basketball games, a school, parents involved in kids activities. Parents were focused on their kids and very proud of every accomplishment. I thought it would be a good story so I talked to people and took pictures. I wanted to leave, but people kept talking to me and keeping me from leaving. I walked to another building and I saw it was empty. Lots of different rooms in one large building with no walls. The rooms were partitioned with blanket like curtains. It was a little spooky. I didn't want to see more so I moved on. People were outside swimming in a very large pool. I met a young man in the pool who worked out at the gym a lot and he had serious control issues. I began to prophesy that if he did not tone down his control issues he was about to lose everything and find himself living in his mother's garage. He acted like he didn't understand so I explained that he was holding on too tight to things and needed to stop striving and controlling. He said nothing and then did something inappropriate, which revealed is total disregard for God. He was unrepentant and rebellious. He then received a punishment and a curse.

Cocoa's Rehab

Introducing Cocoa, our new puppy and his story.

While growing up, my pets always seemed to express that unconditional love I needed. It was like God was loving me through His creation. About a year after my husband and I were married we found two wonderful dogs. We named them Jewels and Judah-Bo. My pets have always been pretty well behaved and a little pampered. Fourteen years later, as Jewels was nearing her time to pass from this earth, Duncan found a little pup on the Internet. I thought he was adorable. We got in the car and crossed state lines to meet this little guy.

Entirely uneducated about puppy mills, we brought "Cocoa Beannie Baby" home the same day. The poor guy was sold as a puppy and shipped off to a pet store. Then he was returned for a minor defect which was resolved by neutering. He remained in the mill for eight months. I am glad we rescued Cocoa from that place. When we got Cocoa home he didn't know how to jump up or down. When he ran, he ran in short strides in straight lines. When we gave him regular dog food from our hand, he thought it was a treat. His bite was always hard because he hadn't learned to play with a soft mouth. He thought that rocks and leaves were toys. He was scared of everything including shadows. He was fearful and lashed out all the time. Our transition with Cocoa coming into our very peaceful home was rough. Healing trauma is a process.

We've been working with him and getting professional help and praying. Cocoa is so intelligent he will even watch TV with me sometimes. He learned all the basic obedience requirements in a week. He has a great personality and we love him a lot. Our love has really helped, not the pushover kind of love, but the deep stable love that is from God. Building trust and having consistency is so important when dealing with trauma victims, even in pets.

When it was time to take Cocoa to the vet I told them that he was a baby and had fears. I wanted them to be extra careful with him. It was during Passover and I was preparing the meal. Duncan picked Cocoa up from the groomer. I heard this little whimper outside my door and when I opened it I saw Cocoa had a swollen bloody eye. Upon further examination I saw pop marks on his head. Duncan rushed Cocoa to the vet who said that Cocoa had either been hit or strangled. The wounds healed, but he went back into his little shell and reverted to his aggression.

Cocoa's story is not unlike many of us people who have gone through extremely difficult times in our lives. We may have been captive to our circumstances and surroundings so much so that it became familiar to us. If we are familiar with living from crisis to crisis, for example, when peace comes along we feel like something is wrong. If we are used to being victims of abuse, when true loves comes along we feel like something is wrong. When I counsel with people who desire healing or deliverance they come to understand that familiar spirit of captivity has to go in order to accept a new and right spirit. The Scriptures say, "Renew a right spirit within me."

Healing is a process. The journey takes us becoming stronger and stronger in the battle to fight our old bad habits and the old ways of dealing with hardship that are unproductive. Some of us want to revert, like Cocoa, into our little shells. Others want to lash out because of fear. No matter what the issue is, God is there to give His love to us and bind up our broken hearts. All we have to do is turn to Him and accept. If we build our faith in God and trust His consistent word, then we will have the tools we need to be overcomers.

Cocoa is becoming more and more secure in our home every day because he knows he is loved and accepted. Soon, the old past will fade in comparison to his new life. Being in a loving, peaceful, healthy environment is good therapy.

Dear Lord, I want to pray right now for those people who have never been truly loved and accepted. I ask you to reach down this very moment and touch them with the warmth of your love and healing. Give them the strength to live another day, to see a better day, and to get away from abuse. Show them they are worth so much that you shed your own blood so they would one day never have to suffer again. Show them your plan Lord and guide them to freedom. Amen.

Death Panel?!

Here we go… we have been dealing with right to life issues for babies and now for adults! Don’t think that we couldn't be headed for new headlines regarding end of life issues and the Supreme Court because with this bill that is exactly where we may be headed.

For the record “Death Panel” is NOT used in the bill. This statement by Sarah Palin is a made up remark, a descriptive term, to get people to understand the DIRECTION in which this could go under certain circumstances. Furthermore, understanding what actually happens in countries with socialized medicine we can understand what her concern is. Will the plug be pulled from grandma? Well, from what I read the plug might not be put in. Just read the chain of events and the plethora of paper work required to sustain life. The more red tape there is the longer it takes to get action and when someone is very ill, the wait could (and does in many countries w/socialized medicine) kill them. Older people in socialized medicine countries are denied care and this goes beyond not having health care coverage. If my insurance company says, for example, that they will not cover a procedure, I still have the option to get the procedure done and pay for it myself. In socialized medicine systems you do not have that option. You are simply denied care. Make no mistake that this bill is bad.

The appeal process is even worse... I have read it for myself and can see that by the time appeals went all the way to the Supreme Court, my loved one could be dead already. I remember a time when I was in college and had to file all the paperwork for registration. It was a nightmare. There were so many offices and buildings to walk to and a plethora of paperwork. I couldn't imagine anything that bad in the world, but alas, there is. I couldn't IMAGINE if my very life was at stake.

Read these pages of the bill for yourself and see for yourself why people are concerned. In the next paragraph, there are a few examples to show one pattern of thought in which, under certain circumstances, the advisory committee might be nicknamed "Death Panel" by society. Keep in mind that the advisory committee may be perceived to be so if they pass certain directives in which "We the people" will have no vote. There are people in this world who think things through to the end including all the possibilities in between. From what I read, I foresee the bill laying a pathway, one step after another, for the possibility of rationing care. If care is rationed, some people will not survive. Then again, we all have to go sometime, right? Sure, we all have thought that at one time or another, but when it comes to us or our loved one, we don't think that way. Yet, I assure you (because I know of some people who think this way and are in places of influence) when it comes down to the bottom line, they would ration care if it meant keeping the system working.

Page 427 line 1-4 "...including requirements [emphasis on requirements] regarding the designation of a surrogate decision maker (also known as a health care proxy.) Page 427 line 24 declares that a health professional (such as a government authorized nurse [pg. 428 line 17]) with authority "may sign orders for life sustaining treatment..." What it should say is, "may or may not sign orders for life sustaining treatment." What this is saying is that someone other than the individual or family member in charge of the individual can ensure certain decisions regarding sustaining a life or not. Of course, the individual is to be "counseled" [pg. 425 line 7] so that they have their wishes in proper order. Of course this will "counseling" will be done by practitioners, but they will be educated by directives set by the government. Where does Pastoral counseling fit into this? What will these counselors be directed to say, instruct, or direct? Will ministries be on their list of people to contact to help with end of life decisions? I wonder.

Currently, the default right now is to give life sustaining treatment, but this health bill proposes that we obtain permission of sorts for life sustaining treatment. Also, this "standardized" life sustaining treatment will be "enabling order for life sustaining treatment to constitute a set of medical orders respected across all care settings [pg 427 line 10-11] This means the "Death Panel (as termed by Sarah Palin) will set these directives on what will be considered applicable for life sustenance and what won't or shouldn't. Furthermore, the "permission" for the "order regarding life sustaining treatment" will need to be signed and dated by a physician or other health care professional [pg 429 line 17] and is in a "form that permits it to stay with the individual and be followed by health care professionals and providers across the continuum of care... [pg 430 line 23-25.] This "permission" also has to be "uniquely identifiable and standardized within a given locality, region, or State. [pg 430 line 5.] Will this identifier be a card, a piece of paper, a bracelet, or an embedded chip? No one knows, as much of these fine details will be put in place by a presidential appointed Commissioner. The section goes on to define the levels of treatment and what types of situations the patient desires intervention or not. I think it is the things that are not said in the bill or that are undefined that are leading to speculation.

In my opinion we should try to save a life as best we can and if we can't we can't. Once a person dies, it is final, and then the judgment. Everyone should have the opportunity to live the fullest life possible and have as many opportunities to get right with God before they pass. I would think that a living will would be sufficient for what may be required at end of life, but I am concerned about the Federal Advisory Committee, Health Benefits Advisory Committee, the Health Choices Administration and its Commissioner (appointed by the President) and its directives and recommendations that will dictate how things are done from now on. The government is taking more control over the individual and replacing certain roles that should be fulfilled by family, religious leaders, and close friends. While I believe in law and order and its enforcement, I do not believe that we should sign over our God given rights to the government. Furthermore, we should not allow the proper boundaries of our families, churches, and communities be infiltrated by bureaucrats. We already understand that those who are being abused need rescue and there are laws in place for that. I am not talking about overcoming barriers to help those in dire need. I am talking about not wanting the fabric of our families, churches, and communities that are good and do function properly to be redefined and strong armed. Why does the government need to change what works? Mmmm...

Tax Dollars for Abortion

I do not want my money going towards any abortion. If the government regulates health care FOR EVERY AMERICAN (and that is what is being proposed) citizens will have no say in the appropriation of funds, such as abortion procedures. We will undoubtedly be snooped if we give into the directives of this bill. Abortion goes against The Faith and we should exercise our freedom of religion. We should be concerned - VERY CONCERNED.

Read page 221 -222: Under the subtitle of "Prevention" (sec. 1713) there is an "optional coverage for nurse "home visitation" and states under section 1904 are eligible for grants to provide "home visitation" for families with young children and expecting children. Furthermore, section 1714 allows optional "family planning" services in these "home visitations." We KNOW what "family planning" really means. WE ARE NOT STUPID. We also know that grants require productivity in order to remain eligible for funds. Many times the more productivity there is the more funds that are released. Options can easily change to requirements with the introduction of new laws as soon as such laws are be passed. The government is taking us down a slippery slope!

Goodwill in the Bill....?

I did find a couple good things and wonder why we can't just pass these only! Page 19 line 20-21 "A qualified health benefits plan may not impose any pre-existing condition exclusion..." Page 20 line 19-21 "...a grace period during which the enrollees has an opportunity to correct such nonpayment."

It is not a strange notion to want to help those who need help. At the same time we need to realize that a small portion of the population want health insurance and can't get it, while another portion don't have health insurance and don't want it. The majority of our population has health insurance. Perhaps there should be a better plan the government can offer those people (devoid of total domination) like expanding Medicaid and passing laws that protect the consumer. Perhaps the government can focus on fixing injustice regarding insurance companies and not taxing us further. Perhaps church and ministries can rise up and help those in need by offering special programs. While we are passing out bail outs, why don't we help schools and hospitals instead of profit hoarding entities that don't aid the good of mankind?

I do not want people to be abused by insurance or this proposed bill. Sure, insurance companies can be real stinkers, no doubt, but so can bad laws and people in power who have a seared conscience. I am thinking that the American people are getting a raw deal in this bill. People can take issue with their insurance company, but how can they take issue with their government and win?

I think the “goodwill” in this bill are small carrots being dangled in front of our faces, but ultimately will turn out to be rotten to the core.

Do you really think the government has your best interests at heart? The President said in his town hall meeting in Montana that he did not want government bureaucracy meddling in our health care, but he also did not want insurance “bureaucrats” meddling either. I’ll tell you he is a real smooth talker and delivers some really bad logic. THE BILL IS ALL ABOUT GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRATS MEDDLING IN OUR HEALTH CARE! Yet, to advert the OBVIOUS, he directed everyone, through the power of suggestion, to focus on our current disgust of bad insurance policies. I see some sleight of hand here. So far we have some pretty good feelings about Medicare and Medicaid and bad feelings about insurance. The President is betting on those "good and bad feelings" and using them for all their worth. I even heard someone in our town meeting say that the insurance companies already ration health benefits and let me add, “Yeah, and we are headed for more of the same except it won’t just be rationing health BENEFITS it will be rationing actual health CARE.” Yes, we need reform and yes we need to stop injustice. At the same time, I don't want to trade one bully for another.

According to the President we have options and we can keep our current doctor and our current health care plan and all the bill does is simply making these things more affordable. This is not entirely true? In the bill some insurance options are limited to a "grace period" and with additional taxation and wealth distribution, money is shifted from one hand to another. If the bill passes we will pay one way or another. It is a bad rap in having to choose Obama tune, "one way or another I'm gonna getcha getcha getcha..." No matter what direction we turn, we will have to face his music.

I firmly believe many of these “changes” will be at the expense of our liberties. The reason I feel this way is because of what the bill says. Besides correcting what is wrong with insurance, the bill goes further into stipulations that put the SQUEEZE on private insurance so much so that many will fail to operate. There are also “changes” which will affect the doctor patient relationship. Doctors will be paid and penalized (through incentives) on obtaining certain results. Oops, Mr. President, I think the government is meddling here!

Let's not be tricked. Having “options” is not the focus as the magician would have you believe. Surely we understand that having options like what type of garbage we want to smell (dead fish or rotten meat) aren't really good options. Who cares about choices then? What is important is having truly competitive options so that smelling growing flowers (the freedom of having or not having the insurance of our choice) or smelling brewing coffee (choosing to pay for our own care if necessary) can actually compete with the smell of the garbage heap! In my opinion, what the government is proposing through socialized medicine is to cut our choices to the ground and pour our health care down the drain by over regulation/taxation as well as having the power to deny life.

If we were really being offered a goodwill deal, there wouldn't be so many strings attached.

The Bill's Privacy Pit

Follow the money and follow the data and you will begin to "get a clue." Following the "data" lets you know who is in "the know" and by what data is collected what kind of decisions they are needing contemplate. By following the money as best as possible, it lets you know who gains and who will protect that gain. Money equals power in this world and whoever has this (and has no character) seeks to keep it at all costs. Those with the money have the power over decisions in many cases. Put certain data, money, and power together and you have dominion. Ultimately no data is truly secure. There are always back doors, leaks, creeks, and favors passing under tables and radars. Some data loss is intentional.

We are all human and people who do have certain information do make decisions based on feeling and some on fact. Either way, it won't always turn out for the best. Discrimination does occur in the decision making process one way or another. Even if we are talking candy bars, I mean people know what they like and don't like. Not everyone in places of power have the SKILL to judge in an unbiased manner when it comes to serious matters. Doctors could decide not to sign life sustaining papers for certain patients (as they will be instructed on various matters of this kind) if they feel the individual will not live for more than three months (for example.) Doctors could turn away patients that are chronically ill, hypochondriacts, or terminally ill because it lowers their "incentive" pay out. The way certain things are not defined and structured in the bill allow for more abuse and fraud than we have ever seen before (in my opinion.) Anyway, I was giving an IDEA of how data could be used along with incentive programs and bias.

Based on the data run and analysis it is possible to determine the “worth” of an individual and cost per person regarding health care. Would some people in the government actually do that and would they have the power to do something with that information? In my opinion they could and would in a roundabout way especially knowing their elitist belief system and some of the ACTUAL WORDING of the BILL and knowing real life cases in countries of socialized medicine.

Look, I don't believe what I am sharing is some conspiracy theory or paranoia (which the Bible says have nothing to do with.) Read the bill for yourself because what is in there is bad enough. Socialized medicine in other countries already determines the cost and worth of individuals. Thinking ahead should not be difficult here. This bill makes a WAY, a path, a directive, an open door to some very BAD stuff. KILL THE BILL!!!!!

Some data is shared among multiple agencies including the various health related committees and IRS, Social Services, Medicare, Medicaid, Health Care Professionals, Secretary of Treasury, Data Analysts, and more. There are too many agencies and too many people pushing data around for there to be total security. Not only that, but it is the data they are compiling in order to make certain determinations that has a high potential for being a serious control engine.

STRONG ARM TAXATION

Did you know that our taxes will be raised to help pay for this health care in more ways than one? Golly gee, the IRS is all over this bill. Read all the ways taxes will be involved for businesses and individuals by reading the bill.

Let me mention just one way I feel the government is "taking over." This is not a myth. Individuals will be *REQUIRED to have "acceptable" health care or receive a penalty- we WILL feel the squeeze on our options and choices! **There would be a surcharge on high income individuals, ***starting from 1.5% to 5.4% increase (for certain income brackets.) I hope you understand that there isn't a choice any longer of not having health insurance and you WILL PAY either way. How will they know if you have "acceptable" health insurance? *They will add a new part to your tax form asking about it.

Powers of Darkness Lie

Why do we keep having to preach the BASICS...... Shouldn't you all know already.....

How do you know people? The answer is, by their fruit, that is the things that they do or do not do- the content of their character. We should not be mesmerized by someone because of their beauty or the charisma of their speech or the clothes that they wear or the success that they have. Do you discern based on your own lust? God help us because then you do not discern AT ALL and are a sheep being led to slaughter.

Don't you realize that the spirit of the antichrist is alive and well and operating in the earth today? Stop being so naive because it won't save you, in fact, it will kill you! Look, many men and women in leadership (positions of power) have good intentions and desire to do a good job with their responsibilities. Some men and women in power do not. While there are some in this world who are completely bent on doing extreme good and those bent on doing extreme bad, there are a few who are completely bad or completely good. As believer's we know that each person has weaknesses that can be exploited more by demonic forces than other people. We also know that God is at work in man to change him for the better. There is a battle going on. The people in our government can be influenced. There are many things that can influence people in this world both good and bad. Yet, if we are people of good character and faith that understand the battle and understand the truth our best defence is the power of prayer and the power of speech. We must in particular pray against deception. I would hope that people would understand that while the President may not personally want to pull the plug on grandma or personally rip the life from an infant, there are powers of darkness and principalities that would in a second. We as believers should BE ALERT and aware and not die for a lack of knowledge! President Obama as well as many others are WORLDLY and the WORLDLY listen to them. The person who knows God listens to those who speak from God and that is how they know truth and error.

Furthermore, it is imperative that people of good Judeo-Christian/Messianic faith get involved in politics. If we do not then our voice will be drowned out. IF GOOD PEOPLE ARE NOT INVOLVED WHO CAN WITHSTAND THE PRESSURES OF THE POWERS OF DARKNESS THEN THE POWERS OF DARKNESS WILL PREVAIL. For some prefer to use their religion to escape reality and remain passive and do no good for mankind. Such people would rather day dream about the glory of God coming down rather than truly becoming His glory on earth. Remember the Rabbi's prayer, the same prayer that Y'shua repeated to His disciples. This traditional prayer is recorded in Matthew 6:9-13. In this prayer Y'shua says, "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven." We as believers want God's kingdom to come and this is done through prayer, speech, and actions. This is not a prayer of escapism, but a prayer to action. There are many patriarchs who were VERY involved, even in politics, but they didn't let the politics of the day darken their spirits. They remained faithful to God and infused the people of their day with the glory of God. These patriarch stood on solid ground and proclaimed the kingdom. There are countless Scriptures that talk about giving a defense and speaking truth in the midst of large groups of people. Not only that, but I know that we will be judged one day as a society and what we stood against as individuals and what we didn't. I want to be COUNTED among those that stood against injustice, the shedding of innocent blood, the darkening of people's souls, and the tarnishing of true love. YOU DECIDE what kind of a believer you are- a complacent dead daydreamer or actively alive doer.

God lifts up and tears down and guess what, he uses PEOPLE to do it. The enemy also uses people to lift up and tear down. Huh, now what? You have to KNOW TRUTH and get real about things to not be deceived. Read your Bible for yourself. Study root words. Actively participate in your faith. Understand the Jewish roots. Consecrate your heart. Don't flail your arms in the wind, be purposeful in your battles. Know who the enemy is already.

Health Care Bill Open Discussion

To open the discussion, I would like to quote from the goal of the bill which is to, "provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending, and for other purposes." My first concern is this, how can we provide affordable quality health care while reducing the growth in health care spending? How is the government going to reduce spending?

There are more questions and such, but this is a start. I contemplate how this Utopian ideal will play out. Will some people begin to appear as "burdens to society?" If so, what will the government do to reduce health care spending on these "burden's?"

Major Changes in Medical Field

Prophetic Dream: About 4 years ago I had a dream in which I walked into a clinic and saw a strange operation of a person that appeared to me to be military. The doctors were experimenting by placing a black foot on a white male. In other words the doctors were using parts of dead people on living people. The two words that come to mind are "transplant" and "enhancement." What I saw seemed strange and experimental- something that the doctors were trying out. It reminded me of the holocaust experiments, but this was done in a controlled and modern atmosphere. It was gross and disturbing.

Then I moved on through the clinic and saw various other procedures being done and a back room in which I was not able to go. I knew that even worse things were occurring there because of the "secret" and "on guard" behavior of the nurses and clinic staff.

When I was making my way to the front of the clinic (the checkout counter) I suddenly noticed that I was in a gown and that I was pregnant. A nurse walked up to me and asked me if I wanted an abortion. The tone and manner in which this option was presented to me was VERY intimidating. I said, "No!" The look on their faces was one of disappointment and dismay as if I was doing something wrong by declining. I was greatly disturb and RAN out of the clinic and woke up in prayer.

[Interpretation: radical changes to the medical industry from the military to civilian and an increase in abortions, particularly for population control. The word "transplant" are policies and procedures pushed on people, which may include social and racial experiments. The word "enhancement" has to do with selling such policies and procedures as best for all people (black/white, poor/rich, and educated/non-educated) when in fact such policies and procedures are a deception. Lastly, science will be given the full backing of powers that be to perform experiments, testing, and creations all within a modern secretive society for the supposed benefit of all mankind. I was not given any time frame for such occurrences, but suppose these will be within my lifetime. Most of these things occur somewhere in the world today already. My concern and what I felt was the nature of the dream is that these things would occur within the United States, where before such things would be forbidden or difficult to accomplish. This is an exhortation to all that anything can happen at any time and to not expect things to remain the same. It will be very important to take care of one's health habits and to put full trust in the Lord. If an individual has eternal life through salvation then they need not fear death. In addition, it will be important to say, "No!" and stand up for what is right regardless of any kind of intimidation. "But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, but sanctify Y'shua as Messiah in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in the Lord may be put to shame." 1st Peter 3:14-16 - Also, there will be a revival and influx of people looking for real healing and miracles from the Lord and true ministers with this gifting.]

My personal thoughts and opinions: As I post this prophetic dream I had several years ago, I find myself currently reading a proposed health care reform bill that the U.S congress is considering. I am not saying that we are where my dream showed, but I am concerned that we are moving in that direction. My thoughts are that we are on a slippery slope and moving closer to socialized medicine. One door can lead to many other open doors and through time a culmination of decisions and laws can lead us to a sad place. Anyway, I encourage everyone to read this bill and see for themselves if this is not indeed talking about government run health care and bureaucratic decision making about life and death. Furthermore, I want to add that no one living wants someone else to make decisions about their quality of life or the time of their departure from this earth. We have a voice and can speak out about these issues, but a baby in his or her mother's womb cannot speak out. I guess we now know how it feels. Thank God people are standing up. The truth is that abortion is a silent holocuast. Eugenics and Euthenasia exist today. The best way to accomplish such evils today is thorugh silent bureucracy and secret procedures through a current health care system. Forget the camps and ovens, just use the hospitals and morges and start with the poor and uneducated- this IS in fact what some people believe because they want to rid the world of "the weak" people and be in control of resources.

God's Health Care Plan

I would like to state that my health care plan is this, “God is my provider and healer- not man and certainly not any bureaucracy.”

God’s track record on health care is greater than any I’ve ever seen or experienced. He has even raised people from the grave! He has certainly healed ALL my sicknesses and forgiven ALL my sins. I have personally seen miracle after miracle from the blind being healed to cancer disappearing. Even when I am weak, He is strong. He leads me to paths of righteousness and even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, He delivers me. The Lord has always shown me what to do whether it is to receive a miraculous healing, make a change, go to my doctor, or all of the above. There is no shame or guilt in seeking healing and health in a decent, ethical, and appropriate manner. The most important thing is that when we are seeking The Great Physician, we are finding Him. Yet, there are so many things in the world clouding the issue and drawing people closer to death even our own religious beliefs.

I have heard both sides of the spectrum. Those who say all healing must be miraculous all the time to those who say that God doesn’t heal today. Both are extreme. Let’s reason together:

What is the difference between God healing someone and a doctor doing it manually? In both cases God can do both. God can heal you, He can send an Angel to heal you, and He can utilize a doctor to heal you. The biggest difference is that one is miraculous and one is manual labor. God uses people to do good work. God uses people to preach the Gospel even though He can send visions and dreams and Angels to do the work. God uses teachers, preachers, administrators, and yes, even doctors. The thing we must not do is put our trust in human knowledge before God. We must not seek to be healed by manual means without taking it to God first. Ultimately who do we trust most- God or man?

The practical difference between God healing miraculously or using man manually is that when God heals it is most often instantaneous. When God heals there is no monetary cost and no dealing with various drugs and side effects. When God heals, He heals completely and thoroughly, in which doctors in this case are useful to verify healing. When God heals it is real and not contrived. In all cases it would seem best for God to heal in a divine manner. I have been to doctors, I have had procedures, I have taken medicine, but all in all none of that was better than God healing me directly.

Preaching divine healing is great because that is what Jesus demonstrated over and over again. In fact, He died for our sins and our sicknesses. As believer's it is healthy to put our full trust in God to care for us. We do not need to run to the doctor every time we have a sniffle. We need to consider God first. Then, it is my belief that we need to look at what we are doing to foster health in our own bodies. Are we sleeping, are we drinking enough water, are we eating properly, are we taking the right supplements, are we exercising? We should have proper respect for God and our bodies. What good is it for us to continually seek God for healing when we habitually make ourselves sick through our own bad choices?

The divine healing message, while Biblical, needs to be preached in a way that increases people’s faith. I have personally heard of people who tell others that the reason they are sick is because they did something wrong. While we know ultimately that sin and sickness is a result of the fall of man, aren’t we are all under that judgment? It is not right to blame every ailment as God’s discipline upon someone. We should encourage those who are sick because they need to get well. Every time we pray for anyone who is sick, their faith is increased. We should never give up praying to the Lord for healing. It is not logical that every single time a person becomes sick is because they did something wrong. It could be that someone else did something wrong. It is wrong for example to put certain ingredients in food that are linked to cancer and various diseases. Yet, carcinogens are in common products people buy every day. And, it may not have anything to do with “wrong,” I mean, this is a world where sickness lives and it is easy to pass germs around. Furthermore, consider the book of Job- are those quick to judgment going to say that Job sinned? What we need to do as Believer's is become educated so we do not die for a lack of knowledge and seek God first for our every need.

Sometimes healing is a journey and not instantaneous. This God is divinely guiding us towards our healing. In many cases healing is not just physical, but mental and spiritual as well. There are thoughts that need replacing, habits that need changing, and true spiritual faith and trust in God increased in our spirits. Sometimes this process takes doctors and prayer. The good news is that God does not take pleasure in suffering and He desires that people be free of their sins and sicknesses. So when we come to God in prayer for the sick we already know that He is ready to heal and to forgive. God is not a respecter of persons and He will not turn away anyone who comes to Him. We may not always get what we want when we want it, we may not get what we want the way we want it, but we should know that He is constant and does not change- He forgives us of our sins and heals us and we continue to seek Him.

Sometimes we are not ready to healed. Sometimes our healing requires a time or an event to take place. Sometimes our healing does not come because it is serving a purpose. Sometimes we don't even have a clue why someone was healed or why they were not healed. There is no "pat" reason or answer. Healing is not a formula or a specific prayer. God heals in various ways, with various methods, and by various means. The most important factor is to have a relationship with God and to know you are secure in Him and to trust Him to guide you.

I have always been grateful to God for miraculously saving my life and healing my infirmities. Sometimes I prayed for it and sometimes the healing came as a total surprise. Other times I have had to see doctors and have surgery. Other times I have had to change my habits and gain knowledge in order to make better decisions. Other times I have had to cling to the Word of God and stand firm. I have avoided doctors and hospitals and hung onto my faith and the Lord, yet even in that I have come to understand that I am not a spiritual failure if I am led to a manual healing. The key is to find true healing. Most of the time medicines mimic healing, but the root problem remains. When God heals, He heals at the root. One preacher I have heard sums it up as good, better, and best. It is "good or best" to make right decisions about living a healthy lifestyle and have medical attention when it is really necessary. However, it is best when God heals.

The divine healing message should never discard those who are sick or physically challenged. We should always encourage one another to be the best that God created us to be. We should inspire others to seek God for the desires He places in our hearts.

Though there are issues with the medical community's belief system and some practices, there are many nurses and practitioners who are Believer’s and God uses them in their work. Much of what doctors have studied and understand was first created by God and simply reported by man. Therefore, it can be ascertained that good and Godly knowledge is in them. We must pray that medical text books and procedures stay within the boundaries of what is good, moral, descent, and Godly. We do not need doctors who kill, but doctors who heal. While many doctors do great work, we should recognize that healing ultimately is the gift of God. It is for God's glory that ANY healing occurs in this world.

Have you ever seen that universal medical sign for healing, the staff with the snakes? Did you know that this symbol represents the healing that took place in the desert with Moses? The symbol represents sins being forgiven and sicknesses being healed. Y’shua (Jesus) completed both on the cross (the staff representation.) The Israelites were struck by snakes (sin and sickness) and God told Moses to make a staff with a snake on it and when people lifted up their eyes upon it that they would be healed. When we look to the cross of Christ, who paid the ultimate sacrifice, we also can be forgiven and healed. So, the next time you think about health care or go to the doctor’s office or are sick remember that if you seek God with all your heart you will find Him. Ultimately God has you covered in His medical plan.

While we face a health care crisis in the U.S. right now, it is very important to stand up and speak your concerns. To not speak up is to be complicit and passive. If the voice of the good is drowned out, the voice of tyranny will reign. Our aim is that God’s plan, will, and design be the foundation of any health care system or plan, which includes, for example, the sanctity of life. If someone didn’t share that Biblical symbol of healing, for example, we wouldn’t have that reminder. If people didn’t stand up for the right to life, some would have lost their life. Each step, each voice, each Biblical principle we institute in the fabric of our society we are helping people have a good life and find their way to God. We don’t win every battle and our voices may be ignored so it is crucial to remember that deep down no matter what kind of oppression we may find ourselves under, real or imaginary, that we proclaimed freedom and are clear of conscience. God is our salvation.

Isaiah 54:5, “But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him. And by His scourging we are healed.” Proverbs 3:6-8, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body, and refreshment to your bones.”

Hoarding Tithes & Offerings

"Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, 'How have we robbed Thee?' In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you! Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the Lord of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven, and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows." Malachi 3:8-10

Most ministers preach this scripture reference to remind congregations to give tithes and offerings. The word the Lord has given me is not for congregations and it is not to adjure people to give to ministers. This word is for Pastors and Ministers of the Word of God who are hoarding these resources to build their own individual kingdom while ignoring God's design and desires!

Churches are not a Pastor's personal ministry to do with what he/she pleases! Churches belong to God, a community of believers who should be able to function as they were created, under the headship and freedom of God. Who are the acting heads or priesthood, if you will, of the Christian Church today? Are they not supposed to be Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers? Read Ephesians 4:11&12

These ministers are to work together! Read I Corinthians 12:21 They are to be accountable to God and to each other and to the community of believers, working together to build up the church. Pastors who have their "own" church mentality refusing to work with and support Apostles, Teachers, etc. are way out of line! This type of church set-up is headed toward a big crash! When a building is built on sand and not the foundation of God, it will come crumbling down!

This is not a slam on all Pastors or the Pastoral Office- not in the least. But this word is serious towards those pastors or ministers who play the "exclusive club" game, deciding for example, to build big buildings while ignoring lost souls. Only 1% of all the money given to churches goes towards missions while a large percentage goes towards concrete and carpet! Get Real!

The tithe and offerings must be distributed not only to Pastors and Administrators, but also to the Apostles, the Prophets, the Teachers, Evangelists, the Worship Leaders, etc. On a whole, Pastors in churches, have the highest salary of all full time ministers while missionaries have the lowest. It doesn't take a Prophet to point out the injustice and fallacy of this arrangement. It doesn't take a Biblical scholar to see that this is wrong! How can we as ministers and as people of God continue to get fat on the tithe while throwing scraps to starving missionaries, teachers, and prophets! God is not pleased, that is for sure! This trend has got to stop! Read Matthew 23:23&25

Unfortunately SOME ministers end up being Pastors just to support the ministry God has given them. This is a terrible outcome because that is not what God called them to do. No matter what, let me encourage those who have the title of Pastor, but are really not called to the pastoral office- Step out in your true calling, God will provide for you, trust Him, and stop leaning on your own understanding. Those who are called to be pastors, please stop hoarding the tithe!

I Corinthians 12:21 "And the eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you"; or again the head to the feet, 'I have no need of you."

In other words: The Pastor cannot say to the Evangelist (Missionary), "I have no need of you"!

Matthew 23:23&25 "Woe to you, Scribes and Pharisees (ministers), hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law; justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. Woe, to you, Scribes and Pharisees (ministers), hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the dish (make things look good, cover up, build pretty buildings, etc.), but inside they are full of robbery and self-indulgence."

Ephesians 4:11-12 "And He gave some as Apostles, and some as Prophets, and some as Evangelists, and some as Pastors, and Teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ."

In 2007, I had a dream where I saw a people who perceived themselves not to be free because they were bound to their past. From the desert came a man appearing to be their "Moses" who promised freedom. This "Moses" was a dark skinned man and a light skinned man was beside him. There were many people who followed him because He promised many wonderful things for them. The appearance of this man was appealing and what he appeared to represent was pleasing. However, instead of leading the people to freedom he led them deeper into Egypt. Many people, even the elect, were deceived by him. [This is interpreted as Obama's agenda.]

In 2008, the word of the Lord came to me and said, "Get your house in order." This was and is the word of the Lord for all who will truly listen. Now is the time for everyone to get their house in order. There is no time to waste. [This interpretation warns of hardships to come.]

In 2009, the word of the Lord came to me in a dream. The word was, "Firestorm."

Please note that I mean no disrespect to the Office of President and the rightful title is "President Barack Obama." The title is merely creative in relation to the content of this article.

Religious Right or Religious Fright?!

Mr. Duncan Campbell has been the Washington County, Arkansas, National Day of Prayer Coordinator for the last four years. Yet, in years past he also worked in the area of the National Day of Prayer in other cities. In the mid 1980’s about the time Duncan was first getting involved with the National Day of Prayer he had a compelling introduction to the ACLU. The Mayor of the town wrote a proclamation declaring that this day, the National Day of Prayer, was a day to honor the Lord. In the Mayor’s proclamation, he would say aloud the name of Jesus. Before the proclamation was actually given, it was published in the local newspaper. The ACLU contacted the Mayor and asked him for an audience. He granted them that meeting the next day, which was the day before the National Day of Prayer.

When the two ACLU lawyers showed up at the office, they were greeted by the Mayor as well as Duncan and several other local ministers the Mayor had invited. This surprised the ACLU. One of the lawyers presented his idea of how the Mayor should rewrite his proclamation in order to make it acceptable. Afterwards, several of the ministers asked the ACLU pointed questions. One question was this, “if the name of Jesus was left out of the proclamation would that remove the basic objection the ACLU had.” The lawyer said, “Yes.” Another statement was that since every church in town was following and worshiping Jesus, how could that possibly be acceptable to leave the name of Jesus out of the celebration? The ACLU had no real answer for that except to state that there should be a separation between church and state. After a few minutes of further discussion, the Mayor stood up and thanked the ACLU for coming and told them that the day he let the ACLU rewrite his proclamations would be the same day he would resign and that he was not going to resign. What the Mayor and the ministers did in that town was to take a firm stand for Jesus. The ACLU did nothing.

In the early nineties, Duncan was helping students in schools start Bible clubs and was doing evangelism training classes for those in existing Bible clubs. During that time two middle school students asked Duncan what they needed to do to start a Bible club in their school. He advised them to find a teacher who would host the club and after they did that to write up a proposal for the principal describing what they wanted to do and when they wanted to have club meetings and which teacher agreed to host the meetings in the classroom. The kids did just that and the principal enthusiastically gave them permission and the club began a week later.

The meeting was conducted during lunchtime. This particular school had three lunch periods which were about thirty minutes long. Different students had different lunch periods. The Bible club was held once a week and was held during each of the three lunch periods and held by various kids each time so that anyone who wanted to come could come. Kids spread the word about the club by word of mouth, no posters or mailings or school announcements. They could have promoted the club in that way, but did not need to. The first day the classroom was full. The second week the classroom was packed, so the club moved to a bigger classroom. The third week club participants had to find a new venue because the classroom again was not large enough. Eventually, they moved to the gym.

The two girls that started the club invited Duncan to speak at the Bible club each week. It is not unusual for Bible clubs to invite guest speakers. What Duncan did at the Bible club was simply to preach the gospel message. Each week more and more kids were accepting salvation through Jesus Christ. The attendance multiplied and so did the salvations. After a few weeks, hundreds of kids were getting saved. The principal was thrilled, the teacher was thrilled, and the two Bible club leaders were thrilled. Truly, revival was being experienced in this school and then came the ACLU. It just so happened that one of the kids at that school heard about this activity and told his dad, who was an ACLU lawyer. This kid never attended the Bible club himself. His father called the superintendent, which he had known for several years, and threatened with a lawsuit unless the Bible club was shut down.

The superintendent told the principal that this serious matter had come up and that all parties involved needed to meet. When the principal told Duncan of the situation, he immediately called Jay Sekulow, who is the founder of the American Center for Law and Justice, ACLJ. Jay’s associate, Joel Thornton and Duncan discussed the matter on the phone. Joel offered to fly to Arkansas, meet with the principal and superintendent, and defend the school for FREE.

Duncan called the superintendent and discussed these matters with him. The superintendent told Duncan that he knew this ACLU lawyer very well and that the man was serious about suing the school if the Bible club would continue. When Duncan asked the superintendent why the lawyer wanted the meetings to cease, he told Duncan that this lawyer felt that children at this age were easily influenced and he did not want them to be affected by religion at the public school. Duncan agreed that kids at this age were easily influenced; in fact they could be influenced by drugs, gangs, sexual encounters, and all kinds of harmful behaviors. Furthermore, Duncan said that Bible clubs teach kids to obey the teachers, study, and stay out of trouble and what could possibly be wrong with that kind of influence. The superintendent had nothing to say.

The conversation between Duncan and the superintendent continued. Duncan asked the superintendent if he was a Christian and the superintendent said he was. Duncan reminded the superintendent that since he had expressed a fear about the school being sued and not having a budget to pay for a defense, that the law firm was indeed experienced in defending schools and students and was willing to represent them for free. Still, the superintendent indicated that he did not know what he was going to do.

When Duncan called him back the next day, the superintendent made a decision to compromise and to appease the ACLU. He told the principal to move the Bible club to early in the morning before school started. This was the only thing acceptable to the ACLU knowing that middle school students do not drive and the buses do not arrive early enough to host the club meeting. In light of these developments, the Bible club ceased to exist. Duncan told the superintendent that he let down the kids, the community, and God.

About a year later, it came to Duncan’s attention that a certain elementary school had just obtained a new curriculum, called “Astro’s Magic Math” being taught to first graders. This course had a character named Astro who was an alien from another planet, but actually he was more than that. Astro illustration was on almost every page and the kids were told to ask Astro what the solution to the problem was. The teacher was instructed to do an exercise with the kids. In this exercise, the teacher would gather the kids in a circle, hold hands, close their eyes, and “pray” to Astro to tell them what the solution to the problem was. This was blatantly asking kids to entreat another god even though it was make-believe. One of the teachers refused to do this exercise, while the other teachers complied. Some of the kids refused to do the exercise and told their parents what was going on.

Duncan was called in as an advisor to the parents because of his experience and knowledge in both New Age and occult practices as well as religious rights in public schools. Duncan and a few key Christian educators and a whole lot of Christian parents attended a very crowded school board meeting. They principal and superintendent were also in attendance. One of the teachers who was in favor of Astro’s Magic Math, gave a very sketchy and poor, by anyone’s standards, presentation of the program and why it was, “no big deal.” Then, one of the Christian educators gave an excellent presentation, by anyone’s standards, and it outlined step by step what was wrong with Astro’s Magic Math and why it should not be utilized in that school.

Duncan shared a few details about community standards and the rights of parents and students. Many of the parents also spoke up. Most every single parent spoke out against it. Only a few, perhaps two, said it was okay with them even though they were not advocates for the program. The first grade teachers all expressed their opinions- two against and one for. After people left, the board continued their meeting and came to the conclusion that they would finish the book for that year, but not have the teachers do any of the exercises. This confined Astro to a cartoon character. The next year, the school bought a different book. All though not the perfect solution, it was a way to solve the problem.

Now I asked the question of Duncan upon this interview, what the difference was between preaching the gospel which is religious on one spectrum and fighting against Astro’s Magic Math, which was religious on the other side. His answer was that in the first instance only kids that wanted to be at the Bible club were there. In both cases the vast majority of the people shared Christian values or at least claimed they did. This makes Christianity their community standard. As far as the second instance, not only did Astro’s Magic Math violate community standards, but it was also compulsory. The Bible club was voluntary.

Today most people seem afraid to mention Jesus or their faith values afraid that they may lose their jobs. What would you like to convey to these people? Duncan’s answer was this, “The First Amendment gives a citizen of the United States the freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, and freedom to assemble. What more to you need than that?”

Duncan continues to encourage pastors, community leaders, student leaders, business leaders, and everyone to make it known in the public arena that they believe in Jesus, that they love Jesus, and that we are following Him. He also encourages people to act accordingly because actions do speak louder than words. In order to shine the light, one has to speak and act. Jesus says in the Bible that Judeo-Christians are the light of the world and are instructed not to hide the light under a basket. Duncan encourages everyone to let their light shine.

One weakness, Duncan conveys, among churches is that people are free to praise God within the confines of their buildings, but are afraid to talk about God or praise Him Monday through Friday. Duncan exhorts that if we, as Christians, want to make a difference in the world, we need to bring God’s glory with us to school, to work, and everywhere we go. We should look for opportunities to share God’s message, God’s love, and God’s light to anyone who inquires. The Bible says that if we are ashamed of the name of Jesus, he will be ashamed of us. So even though some battles may not be won, compromise is never an option. Keep in mind that these kinds of battles are actually worth the effort and frequently won.

Comment: I would like to know how 1 great step for blacks would turn into 100 steps back. Please clarify. Have we had a black president before that I don't know about? Do you feel that a black is not capable of running the United States of America? Maybe, just maybe, many of our black young men, who have know hope and feel that this is a white America, will now believe in themselves and feel there is room for them to succeed and that society will except them. Maybe, just maybe, they will start to take steps forward to making more of their lives than just hanging on the street and committing crimes. No, we have not had a black president before. History was made and for that singular reason I personally am happy for that. It was a long time coming. I just had hoped it would have been a conservative not a liberal with Muslim associations. I am concerned about those influences and should be. Let me show a different perspective; if a white man was running for president that had a lot of friends, including his father and pastor, that were very involved in the KKK, would you vote for him? We wouldn't.

Already, because we voted for McCain (not that McCain was our pick, but as a vote against Obama,) we have been called racist, narrow minded, selfish, and self-righteous among other things which are not true. People have tried to silence Duncan's and my voice. People have judged us and made emotional decisions to not talk to us or do any business with us. We feel as if we are living in early Nazi Germany. Golly, we have lost a lot of friends and business over what we beleive and not because of any true sin we committed. It only makes us fight all the harder and stand up for truth all the more.

We are concerned that our freedoms are going to become less available to us as government grows larger and takes more control. The work that has been already done on the abortion issue will now be faced with even greater challenges. SOME people did not care to listen to the warning signs because they didn't care about what influences him. A lot of people were more concerned about making history. People wanted change, but many were not paying attention to all of what that "change" meant and I am talking about extreme liberalism, not the color of his skin. Others knew exactly what liberal change they were voting for and opened wide the door. There are so many people who absolutely do not want Biblical boundaries and laws to rule. They want humanism to reign.

Now, in my opinion (and from what Duncan and I have already experienced as shown in this blog) I think that anyone who says anything at all about Pres. Elect Obama will automatically be cut down because it will be considered racist. Some people might become "afraid" to speak out. This is dangerous and stomps on free speech. I hope this doesn't happen though. I hope I am wrong about that. We'll see.

We raised our voice of caution as we should. There was nothing about what we said that was hateful- we spoke the truth out of love an concern. However, countless sermons by Rev. Wright are truly hate speech. Why not look at that?! Oh, but I guess being in someone's church for thirty years doesn't really count. After all, our pastors don't influence us at all. Of course, I am being sarcastic here to make a point.

No doubt, the Obama's look great. They seem like a nice family. They look great on television and on print. They have great personailities. They do impress. Pres. Elect Obama is a great speaker and very charismatic. They have made powerful accomplishments. He ran a great campaign. He offered great encouragement to the black community. What's not to like? They "appear" to want good for everyone and SOME of what he says "sounds" good because he is very polished. BUT, we could not vote for them because of fundamental Biblical beliefs and knowing how he has voted in the past as well as the liberal agenda's we all know or should know that he supports. Had he answered questions directly, had he not had associations with people who literally hate whites, hate Jews, and have participated in plots against the U.S., and had he stood up for the rights of the unborn, and had a committment to the right kind of conservative views, well, we would have gladly voted for him. There are many black leaders who would be great presidents. Why not have them run! PLEASE!!

So we get up on Sunday morning and go to our churches to hear a great sermon. We are told that God is a personal God and is involved in every aspect of our lives. He wants to be in our finances, in our families, in our talents, in our jobs, and in our hobbies. We are told that God cares about every bit of our life. So why is it, as some Christians preach, that God wants to be involved in everything in our lives EXCEPT politics?!

I just really want to burst this bubble! Some Christians say they can't be involved in politics because it is, "a system of man." Well, let me tell you that systems of men are present in our churches, our jobs, our economy, our schools, and our politics. Should we then not take a job? Should we then separate ourselves completely from the economy? Should we then not go to school? Should we not go to church? Of course not. We should be IN THE WORLD but NOT OF THE WORLD. There is a difference. We as Judeo-Christians should impact the world around us. If we aren't, the systems of man will!!!!! Don't you get it, yet?! We are in a spiritual war and we must fight.

We should have Biblical standards and principles ingrained in us so well that we can EASILY discern between a system of man and the hand of God at work. It's not hard. One is truth and the other is lie. When you see lies, you see earmarks and signs, you see fruit. The ROOT behind what some Christians have come to believe about "not getting involved," is because they have become intimidated. Perhaps we have come to care more about our pocket book, our jobs, and our status. Where is the first love PASSION that drove us to tell people about the gospel? To have REVIVAL which swept EVERY FACET of SOCIETY!! Come on, now!

Furthermore, it is amazing to me that people are okay with the media talking about issues, but they don't want to hear about the issues from their spiritual leaders. My goodness! That is ridiculous and outrageous! So it is okay to sit around and talk in church gossip camps, but if a leader stands up and says what they believe they are put down. What a bunch of malarkey. Oh, and people say that Jesus wasn't controversial. Where in the WORLD did they get that one?! In fact, Jesus called the Pharisees, "A brood of vipers." What would the equivalent of that be today? Give me a break, people! We need to get real. Jesus was a Jew and He was real and he was VERY controversial. And by the way, God keeps ALL His promises and He is not finished with us yet!

Now, I have a HIGH respect for authority and believe in authentic authority. I do not believe in tearing people down or gossiping about them. Slander is wrong- that is lying about someone and spreading such nonsense around is wrong. Duncan and I did not publish ANYTHING we were not confident of. If at any time we see that we made a mistake, believe me we will make a true apology. We are not afraid of that at all. We SHOULD come to understand the DIFFERENCE between gossip and slander and a WATCHMAN ON THE WALL SOUNDING THE ALARM! Dear Lord, have mercy on us.

The Apostle Paul himself would often speak about the WOLVES in SHEEP'S CLOTHING and WARN the people. He even named names! He even exposed them. I am not talking about small issues that we all have. We all make mistakes and grow from them. GRACE should apply there and LOVE of one another. Yet, there are times when SERIOUS, very serious matters arise and must be set straight. The prophets did it ALL THE TIME and still do. As for people saying that Christians should not get involved in politics, then we should go ahead and condemn Daniel, Esther, King David, and Jeremiah for starters. Let's go ahead and rip the VERY FOUNDATION out and live by a different code all together. Come on folks, think about it. I am being a bit sarcastic here (runs in my family) and I know some can't appreciate that, but some of you will. No need to take offense as I am trying to really make my point.

Oh, and let me add this deduction. If Christians are not supposed to get involved in politics, then why vote? And if Christians are not supposed to get involved in politics, then why should we say that any President, Congressman or Congresswoman, or Clerk for that matter is a Christian? Think about it.

This is a declaration and if you are with me in this, do proclaim it for yourself, too. I am not going to sell out for a false hope, I am not going to give in to discouragement, I am not going to lose my birthright for a temporary fix. I am going to preach the Gospel and feed the poor and worship with all that is within me. As the Scripture proclaims, I am going to not be silent until Jerusalem is a praise in the earth. I will not be insecure. I will not be fearful. I will not be intimidated. I will stand up for the rights of the unborn for the rest of my life. I am going to actually do something to ease pain and suffering by sharing the love of God to the hurting and the lost. And by golly, I WILL GET INVOLVED because you see, I AM INVOLVED ALREADY. May God’s glory FILL the earth!

Amazing, Wendy and Duncan - Absolutely AMAZING the responses your words have brought! I read all of your blog entries and applaud you for sounding the shofar as a warning. One of the 10 reasons for the blowing of the shofar according to Rabbi Saadia Gaon in the 10th century was, "The Shofar reminds us of the voice of the prophets, whose voices rang out like a Shofar blast in calling the people to do justice and mercy and follow Holy ways."
As perhaps the most important election of our lifetime, we needed to hear the voice of the prophets -- and they always shake us up a little, forcing us to examine our beliefs. Everything that CAN be shaken WILL be shaken. The backlash you experienced was some of that shaking as people were "coming unglued" -- their comfortable decisions being challenged by Truth. That which is hidden is being brought into the light.

It was refreshing to read the reminder that the Republicans played a major role in abolishing slavery -- in fact Abraham Lincoln was the Republican party's choice for President. Kudos to you also for your use of the words Democrat and Democratic. A Democrat may or may not be democratic. So many think our form of government is a democracy instead of a Republic that the word "democratic" just sounds better somehow.

Those who cry "racist" should read the warnings African-American prophet Kimberly Daniels' offers about Obama (www.kimberlydaniels.com) - she wrote in response to a pro-Obama article someone posted online in her name. She is not an Obama supporter.

As Christians, we ARE a separate race of people. The Bible is written to the Jews, the Church and the nations (Gentiles). As the Church, we are the Body of Christ -- in this world but not of it -- a holy nation, a peculiar people... Our "race-consciousness" defines those within these 3 "races" of people, regardless of skin color - helping us to better understand what God is saying to us (He has a different message for the non-believer than He has for the believer). It also helps us to know how to connect with these 3 "races" - for the purposes of witnessing, fellowship and partnership (are we equally or un-equally yoked, for example -- in marriage, business, political leadership...).

Believers SHOULD be color/gender/ethnic-origin-blind -- especially when it comes to decisions as vital as the responsibility of casting our vote for the highest office in the land. Voting for someone because he is part African-American is as nonsensical as voting for someone because he is part Irish-American.

Voting the economy is tantamount to saying, "Don't be part of MY economy, God. I'm going to let the government take care of this one." As believers, we can be above the world's economy by following God (Deut. 8:18; 28:8; Phil. 4:19).

I know God speaks to sinners and saints. Before I accepted Christ I heard the audible voice of God ask me a question. I later learned it was the same question He asked Elijah: "What are you doing here?" That question changed my life.

I believe that people will hear both the audible and "still, small" voice of God in voting booths all over America on Tuesday - believers and non-believers. If we ask HIM how to vote, He will tell us. Is there a "separation of church and state" in our own hearts? I pray not. "Yes, God but..." is not an appropriate response.

People are realizing that what feels right, cool, progressive or exciting in the natural may not be God (indeed probably is NOT God!). Charismatic may not be Charisma...

At the 5-day Prayer Conference in Branson last week over 4,000 intercessors and pray-ers of every race from around the world gathered to pray "for such a time as this." After repenting and seeking God's face, one thing we prayed is that all of the candidates would be in their God-designed place. We refuse to be "covetous" for anyone's vote or choice of candidate. We just want God's will to be done - His highest and best for the country founded on godly principles in Jesus' holy name.

And we will be in our place -- as watchers on the wall.

I think it's really sad that you had to send out a clarification about your previous email. I've been totally bewildered by how many Christians I know who simply can't (or won't) see the problems with Obama's views on major, major issues and have jumped on the "you're a racist" bandwagon and accuse anybody, even their brothers and sisters in Christ of not voting for Obama simply because he's not 100% white (and how many of us are 100% anything, really?). Also, just because you're ministers, you're not Americans? You're entitled to have an opinion about this election just as much as anybody else. Also, they have to understand that, under Obama's stated plans, their ability to "buy clothes" from you might very well be in jeopardy, both because of your status as a ministry, and as a small business. Lastly, examining how a candidate's stated positions and plans will affect you isn't being "judgemental"...it's being smart. Wendy's Note: I am appreciative of this E-mail. I just want to say that in most cases I would send out and have sent out flyers that listed both canditates and their positions. Also, for the record, I don't "pick" McCain either. But on a whole different level I sensed it was important to take the risk in order to make a solid stand and to warn people about Sen. Obama and the facts that have been made known which are very alarming. This is not a normal election.

Prophetic people are no strangers to shocking people to think, nor are they strangers to tearing out and planting. In any case, my husband has decided to support McCain because he feels so strongly against Obama. Our vote is not for McCain, it is a vote against Obama. We respect everyone's right to decide.

Lastly, we are being promoted to some different projects than the Joy Conference alone and I want all the wonderful worship dancers to be involved. If Obama does not get elected there is going to be fire, blood, and death - all those who say they are not racist (blacks) will be the ones rioting in the streets. As Christians we are supposed to influence! My Lord have mercy on us if we think that everyone else BUT the Christians should have any input. WAKE UP!!

Look, I believe in voting consistently for those who believe in a way that lines up with Biblical law, morals, values, and ideals. I believe that only God knows best, so that is why I vote in a consistent manner for those who best line up with what God has already proclaimed. And this idea that Christians should not be involved in politics is bogus and a way to discourage. I will not be intimidated by such tactics. We are Judeo-Christian; that is from Jewish Roots. Jews have always been involved in all aspects of their society. It is humanistic thought to compartmentalize everything and keep things separate from God. When we take God out of our morality and our laws (which came from God in the first place) and begin to redefine life for example, we degrade as a society and love grows cold.

When we have come to a point in our history where is is okay to discuss things about Bush and McCain, but it is not okay to discuss things about Obama, we are in a serious world of hurt. It is a sign that hypocrisy is ruling and the ax is about to fall! - Furthermore, it is amazing to me that people are okay with the media talking about issues, but they don't want to hear about the issues from their spiritual leaders. So many Biblical characters were involved in politics like Daniel, Jeremiah, Esther, and Deborah. Not only that, but we know by God's word that we are not to mix pagan beliefs with our own and He warned Israel about that over and over again. But it was their stubborn heart that led them astray. Our country was founded on Biblical beliefs and principles. We are in a major battle to keep the things of God alive in our country. THIS IS part of the job of a Christian leader, golly! It is right down our alley. If it is not our spiritual leaders who are speaking out, who will?!

Golly, I really wonder about the discernment of some of these people who say they are spiritual warriors, now. For what are they REALLY warring?

As for leaders, I seem to remember Israel groaning and complaining a lot for a leader like the other nations had. They wanted to "fit in" better and not be so different. FINALLY, God gave in to them because they were relentless. That is when Saul came on the scene, good looking and eloquent, but fearful and an appeaser. You know, God has a permissive will, and He is not going to force Himself on us. Eventually if we decide to not heed the words of our Lord, we will indeed suffer.

Our Reply: Presidents are not “shaped” by such things. Presidents are shaped by the moral fiber within them and their mentors and associates. Besides, this assumes that all the right Senators and Representatives will be elected and what if some of them are not “saints” and need “shaping.” Let just put it this way, I would not marry someone thinking they’re not so bad because I’ll just “shape” them up- that would be VERY DANGEROUS and most probably end in divorce. I marry someone because I believe in them as they are and we are compatible. Let me ask you something. What if there was a black on the Republican ticket and Hillary was running on the Democrat side? How would you feel and how would you vote?

A president who is pro-life will be able to select supreme court justices who also believe in pro-life. At this point, we do not have enough of these types of judges. Bush did selected two justices who are pro-life. The next president will probably select two to three more. Right now we have four Justices out of the nine that are pro-life. We need FIVE Justices who are pro-life to reverse Roe v. Wade. Much has been done to try and create legislation to restrict abortions. For example, partial birth abortions; that is murdering a child who is fully formed! There are still too many Senators and Congressmen who prevent restrictions on abortions. I still have to go with a pro-life candidate because I cannot vote for someone who is clearly pro-abortion. A president does have the ability to order that federal tax dollars be spent to promote and perform abortions. Bush did not do this. Obama will do this. I think people need to really understand Eugenics and Euthanasia- getting rid of the "undesirables"- and society has found a way to do this as quietly as possible. Abortion in our nation is a silent holocaust.

Obama by his own words which we heard ourselves, promised to appoint Judges who believe in Roe v. Wade and want to keep abortion legal. If this happens, it will take even longer before the possibility of overturning that horrible decision, maybe decades; a decision that opened the way for 55 MILLION INNOCENT babies to be brutally murdered. Each baby has the RIGHT to LIFE, LIBERTY, and the pursuit of HAPPINESS. As a Christian we must go back to the Bible to get our beliefs, our values, our principles, and our world-view. When Christians compromise on such an important issue like life, we then see before our very eyes how a nation can be judged by God.

Things about Obama have been exposed, but people don't care. They think it is a normal part of the campaign process. People think that bad things are being said about Obama because he is dark-skinned and they are taking quick offense. They are overlooking warning signs because they want to prove how much they are not racist. The Republican party began in 1854 by abolitionists as an opposition party to people who wanted to add Kansas to the U.S. states as a slave state. Duncan was sharing with me last night how it was the Republicans that worked to free slaves. They introduced and got the 13th, 14th, and 15th, amendments to the constitution passed. The 13th amendment outlawed slavery. The 14th amendment gave former slaves citizenship and constitutional rights. The 15th amendment gave them the right to vote. The democrats opposed all of these. The democrats as a whole were opposed to civil rights and in favor of segregation until the 1960's. It was the republicans who voted for civil rights legislation in the 60's and the democrats opposed it, even doing a philibuster trying to stop this legislation from being voted on. The republicans succeeded and civil rights legislation became history.

A pivot point happened during the 50's and 60's and early 70's that democrats began to realize that they needed to get the black population on their side. According to, Mr. Robert Woodson of the National Center for Neighborhood Enterprise (a distinguished African-American leader who was a close associate to Dr. Martin Luther King), black victimization became a basis for all kinds of entitlements from the government, an excuse for crime, teenage pregnancies, poverty, etc. The Democrats seized upon promises made to African-Americans that the government would take care of them as a way to keep them poor, keeping them thinking of themselves as victims, endearing them to the Democratic party and making them dependent upon government. Mr. Woodson, believes that African-Americans should stop thinking of themselves as victims, seize the opportunities around them, begin businesses, and make positive change in their lives and in the lives of others. He believes they should be givers, initiators, and role-models. He does not believe in well fare or an entitlement mentality.

George Bush did do some good things. He did choose many African-Americans for his cabinet and other appointments in his administration. It was republicans that promoted Clarence Thomas, a prominent African-American Jurist to the Supreme Court. It was democrats that opposed him. Obama opposed Clarence Thomas, by his own words, saying something like (and I am not quoting) Clarence was basically not a great legal mind (that was the gist), but in reality Clarence Thomas was a brilliant man. Republicans have always supported black Americans wanting them to be themselves and succeed like anyone else.

Yes, blacks were victimized, but like all of us who have suffered abuse or worse, ethnic cleansing, we have to OVERCOME. And when we have finally OVERCOME, we have to WAKE UP and look around us at the brave new world and stop thinking we will continually be victimized. We don't need to turn into victimizers ourselves, nor do we need to think we will always be victims. If we have truly overcome, we will remain strong and move forward and continue to overcome future obstacles. If we succumb to victimization we will give up and lose hope and not think we can do anything to change the way things are. The country has made great STRIDES and can continue doing so. There are MANY people who enjoy our various cultures and I am one of them. At the same time, I oppose ideologies that keep people victims and lost. It is not enough to hand out welfare to those in need. We must educate and give opportunities. We all know that we can give to our kids over and over again, but at some point they have to grow up and stand on their own two feet and become independent. If we do well to educate them and give them skills they can use and they are given opportunity, then they will do well. I believe EVERY American should have these things.

Comment: I love helping people and if I was so blessed to make $250,000.00 per year I would more than happy to help others to get a leg up. I am sure there would be some form of distribution based on people paying taxes. You see each time Bush gave back a rebate, I never got 1 dime. So what does it matter to me?

Our Reply: Sure, I know you love helping people and you are generous. But why would you want the government to take more of your money and distribute it how they see fit? Aren't you capable of deciding who to give to and when? If you want to give to any organization or government you can always make a donation. Not only that, but why should we keep people on welfare with government as their provider, when they really need jobs and to trust God for their provision? The more we are taxed the less we can give.

And who does Obama consider rich? Is it those who make 300,000? 250,000? 200,000? 150,000? or 120,000? These are actual amounts given during the year in a progression by Sen. Obama himself or Biden or Gov. Richardson (one of his main men.) The Speaker of the House and Sen. Majority leader want a much lower amount. The last time they introduced a tax increase bill, this year, that amount was an increase in taxes for those making over $41,600 per year. Keep in mind that Congress passes tax legislation. Obama will be glad to pass legislation reflecting any amount that Congress gives him because he voted yes to raising taxes on the $41, 600 income individuals. These are just plain facts, and understanding of the process, and the reality.

Churches and charities are much more capable of helping the poor. They are more efficient, effective, produce better results and are more personal. In the case of churches, they give the Gospel along with practical help. Government tends to be inefficient, ineffective, and impersonal. The opportunity for abuse of the system is much more prevalent when government is the giver instead of the church. How about a new tax credit for people who give to charities who give to the poor? Republicans would be in favor of that, Democrats should be in favor of that, and it would accomplish way more than the government taxing people more. We do not need more taxes.

Under Bush, the first part of his term was a majority of Republicans, the last few years it has been a Democrat majority. If Obama is elected, then the Democrats will have a large majority in both houses. Because Senator Obama is currently the most liberal Senator in the Senate, Nancy Pelosi is one of the most liberal House of Representative's Speaker of the House, and Senator Reed, Senate Majority Leader, is one of the most liberal Senators as well. In this environment, they will more easily be able to push through far left legislation, which includes many things that Christians have traditionally opposed.

Truly, if the change is a good one, then go for it. But if the change is not good, beware. Having change for the sake of change is not good reasoning. Yes, Obama is definitely a “feel good” candidate, but those are emotions. Yes, Obama is charismatic, young, fresh, and exciting, but those are emotional responses we are having. Yes, Obama is eloquent, but so were many dangerous leaders as well as not so dangerous leaders; this just means that we have to really research and understand what is being said.

Even though my preacher preaches a great sermon doesn’t mean I believe it hook, line, and sinker. I check out what he said in the word of God- and the root word meanings and context as well.

Eloquence should not be a job requirement. Frankly, I do not trust in anyone’s cleverness.

“Change” is a campaign slogan and means something different to everyone. What we must research out is what kind of change Obama is really talking about. It can get even gloomier.

Correcting Misunderstandings on "Vote Rightly"

It has come to my attention that some people were offended by my last E-mail blast regarding the election. I have posted much of the dialog on our blog at JoyWorship.blogspot.com and hope that you will read some of our responses. This gives me an opportunity to explain because I would not want there to be a wedge between us. We are also open to dialog.

I titled the E-mail "Vote Rightly" as a play on words and to spark interest. As many of you now know, we are considered conservative Christians and therefore are considered the "right" wing. Let me just clear any misunderstanding... We totally respect the rights and freedoms we all share to vote however each of us sees fit. We believe in free-will and at no time would desire to force anyone into doing anything they could not do. We encourage each and every one of you to get out and vote.

Yes, our views are strong and I did want to sound the alarm. This allows you to know us better and what our values are and what we believe. We think this will only enhance relationships with those who are able to partake of our ministry on a fuller scale. We don't expect everyone to agree with us all the time. The Joy Conference is only the part of our ministry that we decided to focus on in the last few years. We are much more than the conference. This next year we will be talking a lot more about what we believe in a series called, "Issues and Answers" which cover a variety of topics. Our hope is that you will be able to make the transition with us and not see us as praise and worship ministers only.

As the for the alarm we sounded, we believe we should stand up, without compromise, for those Biblical values and principles we believe in. For centuries leaders, pastors, teachers, prophets, and apostles have been involved in communities and politics (prophets particularly.) Though this E-mail was a shock to some on its topic, we do not feel that we should only stick to the solitary topic of worship. We also desire to write and speak on poverty, pro-life, and healthy living for example. I also decided to sound the alarm based on information and experience we have, not based on media information alone. From our experiences around the world, knowledge, and studies, we have seen some "signs" that are alarming and could not be silent about our convictions. I would rather risk offending some than to sit quietly in the comfort of my own self-preservation.

Some people thought that we were racist. We are not racists, not at all. We are mission minded people who have ministered all over the world and stayed in many homes of many other cultures. We love people from all cultures and respect all cultures. We do not agree with everything people believe, but we love all peoples. Just because we are not voting for Obama, does not mean we are racist. We would have loved to vote for an ethnic president if he or she had conservative, pro-life values.

We are concerned that one great step for the blacks of our nation may turn into a hundred back and we do not want to see this happen. We also think this obsession of Obama is strange, who is mostly white and Arabic. Some people have even begun to worship him. Of course, you may have a different view and that is yours to have. We just want to encourage people not to vote based on what they see, but to become educated on the issues and vote on what they believe or think about the issues. We should not vote FOR or AGAINST anyone because of race! This is our view and is based on what the remarkable Dr. Martin Luther King said in his speech, "I Have A Dream." He said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

I have to vote pro-life and for Israel. I have to vote against the things that keep people enslaved in poverty. We do not need more hand-outs, we need more jobs. I have to vote for the things that make this country strong and safe. Though I do not put full trust in any man and put all trust in God, it is our responsibility as a people to make educated decisions about our future together. We are not a complacent people, sitting back and just saying, "God you choose." We are on this world being tested by God. Our character, our decisions, our life choices are all being tested. What we did and did not do will matter in the end. Each one of us matters. Each one of us has a part to play. Each one of us has a destiny. If we have a mentality that gives up we will never reach our full potential. We must get involved. For too long good people have been silent. Whenever we make any decision in our life, the Bible says to choose wisely and to choose what is right, which means not to compromise our beliefs. If your beliefs are being challenged and you decide to change them, you are entitled to do so, but should do so knowingly and with purpose of mind, not just going with the flow or following an emotion. This is why I used the words, "For the love of God."

Lastly, no matter the outcome of the election, we pray for everyone of you. We pray for peace and not discouragement. We pray for safety and not harm. We pray for love and not hate. May you prosper and be blessed. If you decide not to partake of our ministry any longer, you have that right, just let us know. We will respect your choice. Though you will be missed and I will get over the hurt that people turned from us not because we sinned against God and deserved it, but because we stood up for what we believed in and were shunned. But I tell you this, I would rather stand up for what I believed in than to be silent and intimidated. What we spoke was out of great concern and love for all.
